Last week my wife was driving our 14 Patriot 2.4, when the lighting bolt light came on and it went into limp mode. The idle was very rough and it was throwing a U0401 code. A quick check of youtube revealed the light was commonly attributed to a bad throttle body which seemed easy enough to replace. $50 and a few days later Amazon drops off the part, only to find after installing that the wiring harness doesn't fit. A few phone calls later I find that this is the newer style wire harness and this didn't not come with a harness.
Luckly there's a Pick and Pull nearby and several matching engines in the cars on the lot. I bring it home and give it a quick clean install and everything fits as it should.
Turn it on and now I'm getting P0123 and P0222. Attempted to do the reset (pedal 10 secs in and 10 secs out) did not make any difference. Again quick search says bad Throttle Position Sensor (TPS).
I ordered a new "Accelerator Pedal Sensor " (https://a.co/d/341hpay) from Amazon. Is this the same as the TPS or am I wasting money?
Does anyone have any suggestions on a fix? Dealer can't get me in in the next 30 days and I don't have a trusted local mechanic since we just moved.
I appreciate any thoughts.
