Hi there

Two weeks ago, my Oil sensor alert chime to let me know that according to the sensors my oil was due for a change up after ± 3 000 km. As I didn't want to heard the chime every time I start my PAT until I go to my dealer I made the reset assuming that the chime will be back soon anyway.

But, after those two weeks, nothing came back.
It's still the same oil but no more chime !!!

Is it possible that the sensors, when it's cold outside (-30 C), have troubles ?
Or do you have an explanation for that ??

The oil change indicator does not monitor the condition of your oil. It's based solely on time and driving habits.
Personally, I think it's an annoying useless feature.

Since you've reset it, it won't be back on for another 3000+ kilometers. Get the oil changed as soon as you can.

I don't understand, my seller told me that the sensors "feel" the oil and goes on when the oil is no more good.
I have my PAT for 20000 km now. The first time it took ±10000 kms before the sensors went on, the second time ±7000 km and now ±3000
At this rate the next time will be as soon as I will leave the garage !!!!!

Just change it every 3 to 5,000 mi. & ignore the sensor.

Your dealer is wrong. There's not sensor that analyses directly the oil.

The "oil sensor" is mostly based on your driving habits like stop/start, temperature, etc.
