Most know how to change their own oil, however here are some tips to make the process a bit easier:
No need to remove front skid plate as there is a large hole for the oil filter and a similar hole for the oil pan drain plug. Sounds funny, however I have been asked this question a lot.
Simply use caution so you do not splash/spill oil onto the 'top side' of the skid plate between the plate and engine, otherwise you will have a small amount of oil up there potentially leaking off the back of the skid plate.
You are now completed, as the oil level needs to be checked when warm, you will need to drive a couple minutes to do that, as long as you have added 4L of new oil you will be fine and can top off if you are slightly low. (You can try to add 4.3L of new oil, however I did that and noticed I was slightly high). I found it easier to simply start with 4L, then add .2 or .3 later.
I purchased a Fumoto valve to replace the oil pan drain plug and that saves a whole bunch of time and reduces the chance of oil spillage almost to zero! (see picture below with skid plate removed)

- Change oil while it is hot as suggested in the service manual.
- Open oil filler cap and dislodge (not necessarily totally removing) dipstick.
- Remove oil drain plug and allow oil to empty into a tub (this is where most have some spillage).
- Allow the oil pan to drain for a while (unless you are in a rush).
- Carefully remove oil filter, keeping it vertical to avoid oil spilling out of the full oil filter, empty and dispose of appropriately.
- Replace oil filter with a new one, wetting rubber gasket with a small amount of new oil as to create a good seal. Hand tight, then 1/8-1/4 of a turn with an oil filter wrench (no more).
- Replace oil plan drain plug.
- Fill up with 4L of new oil to start. Top off more later as required.
- Ensure engine oil filler cap and dipstick are tightened/seated.
- Start engine and verify you have no leaks.
