Thanks to a lot of reading here my install was a lot easier. I went with the Power Acoustic (PTID-6250B). Here is what I got from Sonic Electronix:

1. PAC C2R-CHY4 (C2R-CHY4v1): 1 @ $79.99
2. Power Acoustik PTID-6250B: 1 @ $219.99
3. Scosche CR1291B / CR1291: 1 @ $0.00
4. Scosche VWA3 / VWA3B: 1 @ $5.00

It is a touch screen with DVD player and Bluetooth.

Let me know what you think?

Yes I paid $79 for the PAC adaptor. I had to wire it to the radio harness that came with the radio. It acted as an adaptor between the Jeep standard plug and the radio plug. It was easy and all the color codes were exactly the same.

Crutchfield had the adaptor cheaper as well as eBay but I would have had to pay extra shipping withe eBay and Crutchfield did not have this radio. In fact a touch screen/dvd like this would have cost me a lot more at Crutchfield. Not criticizing them just could not find what I wanted there at this price.

The hook up was the easy part of the install. This radio is big so I had a tough time with the alignment of the plastic Scosche brackets. I actually drilled the plastic slot a little to get more movement. The bezel barely fit over this. It finally snapped in place but I had to take it off a couple times to tweek the radio position so I did not have any gaps. It looks great now but I wonder if there are nicer brackets than the Scosche brackets (free fron Sonic with radio purchase).

looks good. are you/have you upgraded the speakers?

I have no plans to upgrade the stock speakers. So far they are good enough for me. My sterio upgrade was more for features and style. I like a good sounding radio but as I enter into my 50's I don't really need the big bass sound anymore.... Not old just like the lower profile... LOL

It looks excellent! That is definitely a worth while upgrade and I great price. I have the factory 9 speakers but I only have the base model 230 stereo and it seems so dated.....my wifes Nissan SER has a nice touch screen and nav system....I regret not getting the upgraded factory stereo, but this looks like the perfect alternative.

I don't have the steering wheel controls but like mentioned there is a harness for that. I think it is in addition to the PAC I got. So far I really like the radio. The only thing I wish it had at this point is when playing the FM radio, I wish it displayed song title and singer info. It only displays the station number.

It does have a scrolling screen display of artist/song when playing off my USB stored music.

I have XM internet radio on my Droid phone. It cost me $1.88 to add on to my other cars radio subscription. I play the satellite radio from my phone through the Blue tooth and that is very cool. I like not having any wires connected from the phone to the radio. I do have unlimited data on my phone so no issue there. You use the phone to change channels and if you get a call you just answer it and the music stops. It will restart when the call is hung up.
