Ok.... I know this is no big deal, but frankly, having 4x4 vehicle (my beloved Patriot) and not having 4x4 sticker on the rear (like some bigger brothers) I considered unjust! Also, as my country is small, so I travel a lot abroad, I needed "Country" sticker... and I made one with custom JEEP design. Images to illustrate:

Country sticker... I like it! :D

Dealer told me that there are no 4x4 sticker for Patriot so I used one for Dodge Nitro. If you ask me... it fits perfectly!

Looks nice. Mine has the 4X4 applique. I wonder if it's an export thing?

Dodge Nitro stickers huh? Looks good from here.

Nitro comes with an optional 4 Liter V6..but not 4x4 as far as I know. The 4x4badge was probably bought at Wallyworld. I saw them for sale there. Doesn't belong on there. A badge does not make it a 4x4. Not sure about the R/T badge as the optional 4 Liter V6 could very well have that badging stock. It has much more hp than the standard 3.7 Liter V 6.

BTT.....To OP....I think the 4x4 badge you put on the Pat does look good...and it is appropriate. It is funny that a 4x4 Pat didn't come stock with the badge.

OK a 4.0 V6. You had me wondering if Chrysler saw the light and reintroduced the real deal.

Well, I saw 4x4 sticker on Dodge Nitro in Montenegro, and we do not have any Wallyworld for sure. 4X4 badge I put on my Patriot I bought from Daimler/Chrysler dealer and ordered it as "Dodge Nitro 4X4 badge".

Also, I just received "Chrome grille inserts" from US, shipped on Nov-13, arrived 15 days later (not bad). Apparently, by installation procedure enclosed with them I have to have at least 65F (which is, if my calculations are correct 18C), which I do not expect before April next year, so I will have to wait for the installation. :)

Anyway, as promised, here are new photos of Country sticker (re)moved to the right.

Looks like the 4x4 badge for the Nitro is bigger than the Jeeps but hey, I'm all about the bling so I'd be happy if it was one foot tall by one foot long.

Chrome grille inserts installation

As promised, pictures of the installation follows:

I read somewhere that high temperatures cause "enclosed" glue to melt, and since I live in quite warm region (summer highs are usually over 40C - 104F) I decided to use extra glue. Tools I used

Very nice!

Is that grill specifically for the Patriot or did you just get something generic and cut it to size?

#19 ·
Actually, I ordered it from Internet as "Jeep Patriot Grille Molding Kit", shipped from the US. As I read here on the forum, this can be generically purchased in most hardware stores in the US and cut it as needed. Living in a small country I assume that this kind of things is unavailable here (although I am not so sure) so I ordered it overseas.

Hey Broseph, That bumper isnt exclusive to just the CRD's, its the bumper for most of the export Pats as Europe has alot stricter pedestrian safety laws. Its designed to help prevent a person from going up under the vehicle if theyre hit on the street. It does however detract a little from clearance for offroading purposes. Of course, having the street bound Riot that I do, I would love to get my hands on one over here.

hogar, may I ask how much you paid for that? (Plain black front grille is looking a little boring to me... One of these days I'll get a little bling for it. :) Not sure yet what, though, and new summer tires have priority for now. But one day. :) )

Yeah, because the Patriot sits soooo high...? :icon_rolleyes:

A little?!? Try "a lot". :( Damn I want the SEMA bumper...

KemnitZ makes a good point. Like I pointed out above, the Patriot really is not a very high vehicle even with the US bumper. Everyone assumes that the euro-bumper is because of EU-regulations but has anyone really checked...?

(Edit: Oh yeah. No 4x4 stickers in Finland either. Can't really say that I've missed one, personally.)

About front grill inserts...my experience...they are cut uneven, so if you adjust them in line in upper side, then you'll get them uneven in bottom side...so better check before stick them on...it's a shame for manufacturer that is making so primitive but low quality product...
About non US front bumper, it is really long and low even in terms of that Patriot is SUV not real truck, but why for example KIA Sportage or even VW Tiguan has better approach angle front bumper if they are sold in EU and obey the same pedestrian safty regulations???

Thank you, hogar. Hmm. It sounds cheap enough to make it profitable (if you factor in the time spent) to just buy the kit rather than spend time finding the stuff locally. :)

Got a link to the shop where you got yours?

It is true that they are cut uneven, but I figured it out too late. On the other hand, I justified them on top side, and difference in length on the bottom is not so noticeable (only when very close and looking very carefully).

Oh by the by, I checked that web site and they did not appear to have any products listed for the Patriot.

(Not that I am in any hurry to buy anything - it is way too cold outside for applying glue to anything.)
