Hahaha, I know ... totally ridiculous, right? I need an LED Flashlight for my '08 Jeep Patriot because on a ride with my puppy today it bumped loose and she proceeded to maul it to a point where it no longer functions.

I knew I should have thrown it in the front seat.

I use it a lot when I'm tailgating and such, so, if anyone knows where I can pick one up at a reasonable cost, I'll be happy to take it off their hands.

I'm looking specifically for one that matches, I have the slate/grey interior (the headliner and flashlight looks off-white or something).

Thanks!

HA! I need to talk to your dealer ... mine wanted $86.36!

I called Jeep customer service because "once upon a time" a car company would realize the craziness of the circumstances and give you one to keep the customer happy ....

Not only could I not understand either of the two reps, they pretty much told me to get lost and buy one.

I was hoping someone would know of a salvage yard or wrecked Pat they could salvage it from and I would pay something reasonable.

did you try the moparpartsaerica site? not sure how much it would be on there tho. Why dont you just replace it with a different better flashlight. The one in the jeep sucks anyways and isnt even bright

Yeah, I know ... but it's good for what I need it for.

The thing is, I'm a bit compulsive about everything being in its place ... so ... well, let's just say the thought of it being broken is pretty much all that I can think about until I have something that's going to click back into it's spot.

Does that mean I'm obsessing?

Probably.

Andrew, PM me your address.

I have a new one under warranty from Jeep, and my old one apparently wasn't actually broken. Apparently the switch had some crud in it which seems to work fine now that it's been disassembled and reassembled.

Provided I can find it, and it still works, I'll mail it to you from Canada via the Postal sevice.

I keep a secondary one in my glove box. It's one of the hand crank models that never needs batteries, has three LEDs, two operating modes (single LED or all three) and works better then the jeep one. 30 seconds to a minute of cranking gives you a good 10-15 minutes of light. I got a two pack of them from KMart for like $9.99.

Funny Story

I live on a really bumpy country road, and every now and then my LED flashlight falls from its holder. I recently filmed a bridge demolition, and when I went back to my Pat I found that the shock wave from the blast had knocked the flashlight loose. I also set of nearby car alarms.
