Hi everybody,

i just got brand new jeep patriot with 6 speakers sound system. In the feature, i wanna add a subwoofer to the trunk of my Patriot where BA subwoofer is installed. I would like to use 6" or 8" subwoofer. Does anybody know how could i do it? My another question is if anybody knows where is the original amplifier localed. Its very important.

Thank you a lot.

I dont believe that you would be able to replace the stock sub with a larger one. Its a pretty cramped compartment. You can add another sub to the system but that would require another amp. Thats not to say it cant be done. Do yourself a favor. If you are at all technically inclined, take apart the back and check out the area. If you think you can bore out the opening for it, than try it. Its all up to you and your abilities.

Enjoy and TAKE PICTURES! We love pictures on this site.

Also, welcome to Jeep Patriot dot com!

Where are the other two speakers in a 6 speaker system? Are they the speakers on the lift gate? If so, then what are those two speaker like vents on the top of the dash at the bottom of the "A" pillars? :)

Today morning i took a look and i figured out, the amplifier for 6 speakers is in the radio. I thought the amplifier is in the trunk like in the patriot with BA.

to ilflyya: 4 speakers are in the doors and another 2 are on the bottom of the "a" pillars. Those 2 speakers are just tweeters. I guess they are connected to the front speakers in the doors.

Here is the picture of my trunk. I want to remove that plastic thing and make a cabin for subwoofer with the exact size of the plastic thing. The cabin could be make from the wood and on the face wall i could glued some carpet or make it nice and smooth. I will use JL 8W3v3 subwoofer speaker with some amplifier. I gotta use some crossovers for the speakers in the door because i dont want them to play low frequencies. So thats my dream.

What do you think. Could it be done? I think I can do it by my self because I know what I put in.

I was confused. I thought you had the BA system. I took out that back panel myself to see if that little cubby could be removed, and a sub could be mounted in it. The problem is, I cant get that cubby out! Its like freaking plastic welded. Good luck man I had so much trouble.
