pretty cool - way better than my techs "you shouldn't stay on those forums, they just complain about their vehicles and it'll make you like yours less" (this after I decided not to go their route to take off the roof racks via removing the headliner). It is great resource!

You bet! My dealer says I know more than him about the Pat...didn't want to hurt his feelings so I said «certainly as much» with an inside laugh to myself. They're really on their toes when I walk in with my questions or information request.

Dealer called... they are trying to reproduce the leak. Keeping it overnight. They gave me a PT Cruiser as a loaner. Sorry to anyone who has one but I am sure when I get the patriot back I will be sooo thankful. The flame red pt and I are not a good fit.

 

I learned before buying a new vehicle to see if there is a forum and check it out. You learn a hell of a lot more about the vehicle from talking to actual owners than you would talking to a salesman. This forum played a big part in me choosing the patriot. Even with the problems some members have mentioned, I still felt confident in buying one. Plus by reading about the problems you know what to look for if there is a problem and can tell the dealer exactly whats wrong.

 

This site has been a remarkably fun experience and help in learning our Patriot. I had not a clue what a Patriot was, but fell in love at the dealership, keeping a few bucks in the wallet as well. Always loved Jeeps, but never thought about owning one. Our Pat has been flawless just now touching 5K mileage.

El Wifo and I are off on a land cruise of at least 18 days to the SW U.S.A. We haven’t had as much fun packing a vehicle in over 20 years. Back then it was a brand new black 1984 Nissan/Datsun King Cab pickup. “Boy Howdy” did we love that vehicle. Now empty nesters, the design of the Patriot gives us the same feeling of adventure again.

Stated before the 115v outlet is next to genius for us. We purchased a Coleman Electric cooler for our travels. No more ice wrestling every morning and evening, and good-by soaked leftovers. With the back seats folded down, the cooler is within easy reach of the passenger for healthy snacks or soft drinks. Or, for cooling a bottle a Chardonnay a couple of hours from our next overnight stay. What a money saver!

There’s just something intriguing about this vehicle. Since you folks have been so great with all the suggestions and fun, will keep a diary of our mileage over different climates From Colorado to Mexico.

 

It sounds like you're gonna have a great trip ahead of you. Howz about the occasional pic to go with the diary you might be doing? It would be a great way to let us homebound people take the trip with you!
The wife and I would like to go to the SW part of our fair country but it might be a couple of years away with our kids still in college.
