I want to get a new jeep patriot. What is a good price for a patriot 2011 4wd 17 inch wheels, power windows and locks, stick shift??

First, make sure you are happy with the model. I am guessing it has more options than you listed, such as a/c and maybe some odds and ends. I believe 2k off a sticker price is a very good deal on a 2011.

Take a ride to another dealer of Pats and ask them for a price on a Pat with the same options. The bigger the dealer, and the more Jeeps they sell, the better (not always though) because the more they sell the more $$$ the dealer gets as a sort of bonus. So a dealer can sell a Pat for 100 less than what it costs them, but they may get $500 from Jeep as bonus.

Also don't make the mistake of buying an under loaded Pat and then adding options. More often than not you can get an upgraded Pat for a couple of $ more on a monthly payment.

One more....do not buy the extended warranty through the dealer. If you want the warranty call Chrysler directly and save hundreds of $$.

Having just bought a new Patty, let me tell you dealers are trying to get as much as possible since they claim they can't keep them in stock.

Patty Lattys are usually well loaded and in short supply in my neighborhood...so they've been considerably more than loaded Sports.
2011 4X4's are also Rare from what I've seen, so you are looking for a pretty specific platform which may take a while to find at a reasonable price.

There seems to be a wide variety in pricing around the country too.

I agree with going to different dealers too. And don't be in a hurry. Keep an eye out for factory incentives too. A dealer will tell you what else you qualify for too. Maybe a Veteran's discount, or Chrysler loyalty, or whatever else they have.

When I bought my Latitude yesterday my jeep was only $400 over invoice. Go build your jeep on carsdirect.com and use the invoice price as a reference on how much to spend. Check for rebates as well. I got a nice $1500 one when I bought mine.

Shot, I agree with you sort of about not buying the extended warranty. If you are given the option to buy it you should definitely haggle with them on the price. I ended up buying the extended warranty from my dealer only because of the free financing and they reduced the price drastically. You can also buy the extended warranty up until the 3 year 36,000 mile warranty ends.

Colorado, Definitely make the other dealers know that your searching other lots. When I bought my patriot. I told the dealer the "good deal" I was getting at another dealership. I asked if they could beat the price. They beat the price and gave me a latitude with more options. I got my latitude for 2k less than what it was listed for.

Good Luck and let us know how it goes.

Yeah they are offering me 2k off of the latitude. Car dealers always make me nervous. I was hoping to get a brand new latitude for under 20k but i don't know if its possible.

I did get to test drive it today and I told the dealer I would hopefully be back tomorrow. Its snowing like crazy here! It did so much better than my ford escort in the snow lol. I drove the same way they test drove it with my car and my car got practically stuck hahahaha. Jeeps are so much better in snow and they are way more safe than mine.

Dealers will include any current rebates in their 'best' price. Ask them to break it down for you. Your goal should be invoice price, at least. Then decide whether to take the rebate or financing. For instance, right now 2010's have 60 month, 0% financing OR $1500 rebate. You will have to run the numbers to determine which is the better in your situation. If a vehicle is en route to the dealer or just arrived, you can make a strong case for a below invoice price. Ask to split the floor plan allowance, the money Chrysler pays the dealer to help with financing inventory and advertising. It's around $450. Since they won't have to spend much of it, they can afford to let some of it go. There is also about an $800 kickback on these vehicals. If they really want to get it in and out, they might give up some of that. End of the month, the pressure is on them to make sales, so go out tomorrow and twist some arms...
