Yo Mud,
You guys '
Down Under' have a colorful way with words: nothing says ready to pull the trigger better than bee's dick

. Thanks for making me smile.
Like you and apparently a bunch of us in these forums have learned, color choice can be a real stumbling block. I've been dragging my feet on placing a new Patriot order for weeks now because I keep wavering back and forth between Jeep Green and Sunburst Orange (..that and because I still haven't eliminated a new Subaru Forester as an option).
T'wasn't always so. When I first spotted a 2008 Jeep Green Patriot freshly off-loaded from the truck at my local dealership, it was love at first sight and, had I purchased the Jeep Green Pat straight away, I would have been happy and satisfied. A couple days later however I espied a Sunburst Orange model in just the right light on another dealer's lot and that's when confusion set in.
When testing at University they always advise that if unsure about an answer, then go with your gut and the first thing that pops into your mind. Also to me at any rate, Jeep Green says Jeep and the outdoors in any language. OTOH, it's does show the dirt more readily and it may lower the resale value as noted by another forum member (djp_63: What's your source for color-related resale information?).
FWIW, my ex-girlfriend (
not my choice) and I bought a new 2003 Savannah Green Subaru Impreza TS Sport Wagon several years back and it was absolutely beautiful when all cleaned up as well as being distinctive verging on rare, but it did show the dirt.
Savannah Green is almost identical to Jeep Green, but the color wasn't appreciated here in the States and Subaru dropped it after a two year run. In fact, green has fallen out of favor as a new vehicle color here in the USA for the past eight or nine years and shows no sign of a resurgence.
Mud, you're gonna love your Jeep no matter what color you get .. so go with your gut on color choice.
