My wife mentioned to me the other day that the Jeep logo on the hood was off center, didnt really believe her until i saw it myself. It is offcenter by about 2 inches towards the passenger side. Are all patriots this way or did mine some how get overlooked on the way out of factory. And most importantly, what can i do to fix this? Will post a pic when i can find a camera.

OMG.......i think i'm on to something!

first, for my own piece of mind, i had to go check my Compass to make sure that the "Jeep" on it was centered. yes, it was. and then it hit me.....like a friggin' freight train it hit me! why hadn't anyone thought of this before? it was so IN YOUR FACE that people just didn't see how simple the solution was!

the "Jeep" name, being offset to the right on the Patriots causes increased overall front end turbulence and not only an increase in downforce on the passenger side which, in turn, creates an updraft, if you will, near the windshield BUT a decrease in downforce on the drivers side, resulting in an equal, but opposite reaction.

you see, because some assembly line worker in Belvedere Illinois wasn't paying attention to where he was attaching the "Jeep" nameplate, HE in fact is the cause of the Patriot 'hood flappen' issues!!!

well, that's my story and i'm stickin' to it!!! :D

if it bothers you THAT much (and believe me, it would bug the sheeeite out of ME), take it to your dealer and tell them about it. they'll simply replace it, properly centered, under warranty. you ARE still under 36K miles, aren't you?

Moadey, all the kidding aside, please post a picture, if possible, of this mis alignment. So we can tell, tape a ruler to the center of the hood just above or below the Jeep logo. Then flip the ruler and do the same again......

Moadey, It isn't usually this difficult to get a serious answer to a serious question. Must be all the patriotic drinking associated with this holiday. The logo on my '07 Patriot is exactly dead center. I really like my baby Jeep but there sure are a lot of quality control issues reported here. Your wife noticed it therefore it is visibly noticeable. I would definitely want it fixed regardless of how far off it is. Earl

Exactly what DrugRunR said... Take it back to the dealership you purchased it from and speak to the sales manager. Walk him out to the Jeep and show him what they need to fix. If there is the slightest hint of where it was after they fix it, do not accept the repair and demand that the general manager get involved. Point here is your hood should be the same as mine or anyone else's that has not had this happen to. If you can see where it was and they say that is the best they can do, demand a new hood. You're not doing this for just yourself, but anybody else that has a problem that they take to the same dealership to get fixed and they say "That's the best we can do".

Now go kick some manager's butt!

"Moadey", you might want to check the inside of your hood for a white label with your Pats "VIN" on it.

if you don't find one, the hood may have been replaced for some reason, in which case first, i would ask your dealer "WHY" and second, "WHY wasn't i informed of this before i took delivery?"

if it has the white VIN label on it, the factory did it. if not, then possibly the dealer did it......

Much Better PaPat:D When its that far off center, it looks intentional and not like a hungover factory worker put it there:) I was gonna suggest the same thing.

Ha im sorry Moadey but that is so far off. If they do a final inspection after taking it off the line, why the hell didnt they notice that. Thats just bad.
