Am wondering if spending $27.00 for these at Just for Jeeps.com worth it? I have white Jeep logo valve stem caps on my "X"....eventually one or two would go MIA. Because I have TPMS on each tire, I asked Just for Jeeps to see if theirs would work and the answer is yes...Your thoughts???? :)

Be careful with any steel/metal caps on your TPMS valve stems. The steel and aluminium will create bi-metallic (or galvanic) corrosion. Maybe use a little dielectric grease on the threads. A number of members had their metal caps (OEM on 2007 model years) seize on the valve stem and broke them off when they tried to remove them. In 2008 Jeep switched to plastic caps.

True...I have read about them...the ones I talked about are Mopar accessories, not from some other filmsy companies...did check out others as well as ebay and none indicated that they are Mopar.

I can see the point of a locking valve stem cap if you have a lot of enemies but why would you put yourself through the PITA of unlocking them whenever you have to check the PSI or air up?

it's NOT a smart thing to do if you have TPMS (tire pressure monitoring), which you have. Metal caps will corrode to the aluminum stems and you'll be buying new TPMS sensors or replacing them with plain rubber stems and living with annoying dinging every time you start your jeep.

You are getting me worried, maybe confused...I doublechecked the website and it says "component of the system are chrome plated to O.E.M exterior standards" but nothing about inside of the caps...The guy there said yes those are for TPMS via email....when they arrive, I'm going to check the inside and see if they are plastic then I should be OK????

if they're plastic threads inside and have an o-ring sealing water out of the TPMS you'll be good to go.

I broke off 2 of my sensors and one of them is siezed still and holding air. My alloy caps came from the dealership on the new 07, but they refused to fix it under warrantee saying they weren't stock.
