I searched through here a bit hoping to find something about the service intervals. I am looking at a Patriot with 17,000 miles and wanted to make sure that the correct service was done on the vehicle. I also wanted to be aware of what will be coming due soon on the truck. Thanks!

I do not think there is a thread with that info.

You can download the owners manual, though. Jeep Owners site. Enter the year and model on the left side, then apply selection.

In the lower middle section called "Servicing & Operating My Vehicle", click on "Owner/Service Manuals" then download the .pdf. That has lots if info including service intervals.

This is basic, out of the owners manual. It was a table which did not transfer here very well. The numbers are Miles Kilometers or Months in that order.

The service manual only requires oil changes every 6K miles so for those like me who service every 3 the interval seems long.

What is the FD25 after all the other specs on your Jeep? The Jeep site is still giving my computer fits. After looking at the cost of insuring a Jeep in California (as expensive as a new Forester) I realized I may as well pay an extra $80 or so a month and get a new Jeep and the lifetime warranty.

I'm pretty set on the AWD, 5 speed, tow prep package, side air bags and maybe cruise control. Probably silver since scratches and dirt will show less. I'd like the wheel and tire package too but I'm not sure it is worth the money. I might need to spend some time looking at wheels and tires online.

Edit: I figured out what 25D is. All I want is cruise and the air bags, I realized I can put the oil cooler in myself.

I change the oil every 3,000 miles, and the EVIC advises me when I am getting there. Had a nice surprise the other day. I had bought mine last September. On Saturday I looked at my inspection sticker and saw I needed an inspection and had missed September! Yikes! I drove over to my Jeep dealer, who is open on Saturday and they took me right in. When my car was ready, they only charged me $10 because they only charge $10 for the first inspection on a new car! How nice! Mullen Motors of Southold, NY. Great bunch of folks!

Which is why I said download one, although he's having problem with that.

2008+ Patriots get an oil change indication lamp based on how the vehicle is driven. Otherwise, plugs at 30k miles because they are copper instead of platinum, but they are easy to change on this inline-4. Nothing special otherwise.

2009 gets nicer interior materials, most prefer it, some prefer the -08.

Insurance rates for me are the lowest of any vehicle I've owned.

Cruise seems like a pretty easy add add-on with parts from the dealer, under $250.

If you like the OEM 17" wheels, try to find a set off classifieds here, ebay, or Craig's list. The wheel/tire combo often sells for about $400-700, and Jeep asks $590 for the upgrade but you lose the 16" combo you have. Keep or sell those to minimize costs for the upgrade.

I had had to have the dealer install the cruise. I also wanted the fog lights. I may add the oil cooler at some point as well, now that I have the 2" receiver, I should up the towing capacity of the rest of the car.

If I recall correctly, the wheel and tire package isn't available on the base 25D model.

I have been very vocal on the Chrysler Advisory Board for making options available as individual items!

I was looking at my window sticker yesterday, standard features, then there is a big list. Then the column of optional features, nothing.....
