My 61' Vette got 8 Mpg and it had a small tank. You could literally watch the needle move across the dial on a drive.

My sister in law has a Durango with the 5.7... I was driving it last summer... on the highway was getting around 13mpg and around 9-10 in town. I have a lead foot - therefore I have a 'Riot.
9 mpg !!!!

See that's the thing, when people tell me they are getting 18mpg in a Hemi I am really suspicisous.

Reminds me.. back when I was in highschool (1986) i use to have this black ford bronco full sized that use to do maybe 8 mpg on a good day. I of course had no money and wanted to drive all around town and to the beach, etc more than I ever do now. Damn 8 mpg will keep you at home when you are broke.

I'm not sure it's all about having a led foot.

I'm doing 18mpg average in the Pat. and even on a straight 95 drive, will only do 22 mpg. I think if I had thinner tires and no roof rack, I'd be getting at least 21mpg average.

To me it's all about not really liking the way thin tires and no roof rack looks on the Pat - so i've got wide tires and a heavy roof rack. I actually think with a new v6 mustang stock, I'd be getting about 23mpg average. What's that gonna save me.. at best 25% of $135 a month. So Maybe $30 a month savings in Gas - but in a car with twice the Horse Power.

I have the 5 speed and just got home from a 2500 km trip to Vancouver and back. We frequently got 7.8 L per 100 km and so far I am convinced that the Pat runs better with mid grade gasoline. It is smoother but not necessarily better for mileage and I did not like one tankful of gasohol in Golden BC.
