Team,
It's been forever since I post here. Hope you are all doing fine.
I've now had my 2008 Patriot 2.0 auto cvt for just over 2 years. I have 20k miles on it.
She still looks and runs great. No issues at all.
I think the only issue I have is that I put beefy tires (295/50/16), a heavy roof rack, I drive with my windows open and I have a led foot. So, I've never done better than 17mpg average. Never. But I've had this issue with other cars too where I usually do under the expected city estimate.
Anyways, lately, I've been getting the itch to trade her in for a Dodge Challenger. Concerned about fuel cost, I was opting for the SE V6 which is suppose to do 17mpg city. I actually figure I might do about what I'm doing on the Pat due to the roof rack. Who knows. But now I'm thinking, what the hell, why not just go for a Hemi. How bad can my MPG get?
I have a theory. Led foot + open window = big strain on a baby 4 cylinder resulting in total loss of any efficiency and basically resulting in a common low water mark for mpg anyways.
How ironic would it be if I traded in my Pat for a Challenger Hemi R/T and both produce around 16mpg?
Possible or extremely unlikely?
Thanks.
