Hello forum!
Traded in my well-aged 2007 Subaru Forester AWD XT for a 2016 Patriot 4WD Sport last night with 24,000 miles. Good deal. Very happy. Happy to be here. I had only Dodge and Jeep everything growing up, and I'm excited to be back in the fam.
Interested in mostly cosmetic mods for now, then off-road upgrades later on. Driving to work 7 blocks in New Orleans might as well be off-roading, and I like to roll around the creeks at the farm in Mississippi on the weekends.
Going to gloss black the wheels and either debadge (calm down, everyone knows it's a Jeep) or flat black the emblems tomorrow. Front window tint. Gloss the gray trim. Then we'll see what happens. I've been on various auto forums for 15 years, and this one seems pretty cool. Looking forward to learning from y'all.
You may notice the Wrangler in the background and the Subaru behind the Patriot. I don't know what it is about this block, but the only resident (non-visitor/tourist/AirBnB) cars that aren't Jeeps or Subarus are a Prius and a Jetta and that's only because lighting struck an oak tree and half of the tree and powerlines landed on her Jeep and crushed it and set it on fire and her husband wanted a Jetta because he is a silly man. True story.
Cheers,
Jessica
