Horrid squeaking noise from rear drivers wheel

This noise has been driving me insane it only squeaks until the car warms up and is going highway speed. It seems to come from the rear drivers side wheel I have tried taking it off and looking for rubbing and using white grease on anything that could possibly be making it and have had no luck so far. Would take it to the dealer but I'm out of warranty :/

Sounds like the rear wheel bearing (hub assembly) has gone bad. They are sealed and can't be lubricated.

I'd check around the local auto parts stores.

I checked NAPA and Partsgeek.com, both stores were just over a hundred bucks.

If that is what the problem turns out to be......

When I thought I heard squeaking from the back of mine a couple years ago(over all the bumps), I took it into a dealer and ended up getting almost a whole new suspension. Though, mine was under warranty and it didn't cost me anything but gas to get there. Now, it's starting to occasionally squeak again, but not too bad.

Check the e-brake cable where it mounts to the underside and is located just under the drivers side rear door just in front of the wheel well. Search "hand brake cable" and you'll find a few threads on how to deal with this annoying slow speed creek/rattle that seems to rear its ugly head as the temps drop in the fall.

Yeah I did take take it to the dealer a couple of years ago regarding this noise and the work order did say something regarding re-routing the e-brake cable. What that entails I'm not sure but it cured the noise for about a year. I then read posts here about a possible solution which involves taking off the backet that holds the cable to the underside and grease everything including the rubber accordian boot etc. Then bolt it back on and for me it solved the isssue for about 6 months and then it slowly comes back. I just do the same procedure over again in the fall and spring and it seems to work for me.

If I recall my boot is coming apart and I'm sure most will find theirs are too especially on older models. But to be honest I'm not really quite sure what its function is and I'm not about to take it to the stealership as I hear you have to replace the entire cable. I'll stick to lubing it up with Fluid film thank you very much!!:D

Alright so I fixed it today. The part that squeaks is located right under the rear door on either side. The rubber piece on the side that was squeaking was torn up and squished together. And I tugged on the e brake line and decided the noise is coming from the line rubbing on the bracket on the squished up side so I'm gonna try so find a higher quality peice of rubber to put between the 2 and see how that works. For now I greased the hell out of it and there is no more noise.

The cause of the sound.

This is the other side that wasn't making noise as to can tell it's not in as bad of condition.

Greats pics!!:) I'm glad this has solved your noise and hopefully we can find a more permanent solution to yet another cheap Chrysler component.

Just tracked down a squeaking noise coming from the interior cargo area when going over small bumps in the road. The right side peg of the spare tire cover was causing the adjacent panel to make noise so I just wrapped the peg with some masking tape creating a barrier between the peg and the slot it sits in and voila no more noise!! It seems as soon as the temp drops below 13C the multitude of plastic in the cargo area starts to make noise until the heater warms up the interior.
