I just saw on Yahoo news an article on cars that are failing ad ones that are leading the pack. Our trusty Patriot was right up there on the list as one of the vehicles keeping Chrysler afloat. Heres the full story:

Here is another situation where the statistics skew things.
They are comparing the first 10 months of this year to the first 10 months of last year. Considering the Patriot did not even "hit the shelves" until about March of '07 (still not really known until about August) that is not a legitimate comparison.
What is legitimate however is that sales were climbing quite well in the first half of '08, and even though things have gone sour in the economy they are still selling a consistent amount (not near the peak of 8000 in May but more than 3000 for 5 straight months). If they sold over 3000 for Nov and can sell over 3000 in Dec that would be a good indicator.

So, yes it is good that others realize the rose among the thorns. It is just too bad that even then it is due to piss poor analysis.

We went to a dealership today to look for the fiance a new car and the salesman fell in love with my Jeep. Apparently he was a fan of Surf Blue also. Then when i left there and was leaving the gas station some guy and his buddy were getting out of there truck and kept staring at the Riot, stopped me and asked me what kind of car it was. I figure if they spent a little money on a commercial or two then they could double sales of these things. I constantly get comments on mine no matter where I go, and its like people have never heard of it before.

When the Patriot first came out, I predicted that this Jeep had the potential of becoming the VW Bug of the 21st century. The Patriot is a world beater; economical, reliable, fun to drive, and just about the most flexible machine for cramming gear into I've come across.

I've also been calling it the swiss army knife of the road.

I guess you folks know that I like it!
