Jus checked again it pressure coming out the black cap is there a special way to connect this? Iv pushed it down an inserted the clip

 

It's been a while since I did mine so I just looked at the manual but it's not that clear. IIRC, isn't there an 'O' ring on that part that clips in? It might be misplaced.

 

Hi yes there's an o ring on the new filter which looks fine. Can you just confirm iv got the fuel in and out correct? Right hose in,left hose out?

 

I'm looking at the manual and forgetting the fuel return pipes, it says the left hand pipe is to the injector pump and the right hand one is from the fuel tank.

I will be happy to double check on mine tomorrow when it's light if you get stuck.

BTW, when I say left and right, this is looking at the filter from the front i.e. facing the rear.

 

Sounds right but if its not to much trouble can you double check in the morning. A pic would be greatly appreciated if possible. But thanks for your help so far pal.

 

Forgot to ask what manual have you got I tried abit ago to get a Haynes but couldn't find one.

 

There's a manual you can download with the link on here somewhere. You should find it with a search.

See if this helps. 1 and 4 are return lines. 2 goes to the injector pump and 3 is from the fuel tank.

 

So going off that pic it's right so must best to do with the push on cap and circlip. Cheers I'll search manual now

 

hey,are you sure that's the crd filter in the picture?
mine has only two pipes.

 

Just checked mine and it's as per the diagram. Maybe they changed at some point.

Thanks for that Dane its all sorted now.mine is slightly different to that 2pipes then plastic cap with 2pipes that's where the problem was the circlip that hold the cap down firmly wasn't seated right. But damn hesitations back even tho it does feel better for the new filter.

 

Glad you fixed the leak. The plastic insert with the two pipes is a bit tricky to seat I remember, whereas the other two pipe just connect in the normal way.

As far as the hesitation goes, I take it you haven't got any codes?

You might be lucky and it's just bad fuel.
