Hi, the front windshield wiper in my 2011 pat is acting erratically. It turns on now and then and it works for a while and then stops, then starts again. I just changed the blades. Any ideas what might be causing this? motor going out? Please advice. Thanks!

sounds like an electrical issue / loose connection / bad ground

could be as simple as a bad relay. If you want to diagnose you'll need the wiring diagram and and a multi meter... or just start to visually inspect things to makes sure you don't have any loose wires.

where can I look for these things? what do I need to remove in order to gain access to it? any fotos or other past posts you may know of? I assume that its not the fuse since wipers work on and off.

I am still dealing with wiper problem. Any ideas of were to look for problem, or troubleshoot? I suspect its a electrical problem. Should I take it to any mechanic for a diagnose? dealer I believe charges a $150 flat fit to look at it.. Please advice

According to the wiring diagram on Revbase.com, there's no relay. It all comes out of the TIP module. (totally integrated power)
Unfortunatly, the diagram is missing the wiring from the left multi-switch.

Thank you thesavo. I suspect the TIPM needs to be replaced in my pat. Has anybody done this themselves? I read its plug and play but a programming sequence has to follow..

I have never done this. I found this resource while searching for Jeep Patriot totally integrated power module

More likely then not it's the wiper motor. You can measure voltage to the motor while it's running, if the motor stops but the voltage remains unchanged the motor is shot.

We have a 2011 patriot too and are having the same problem. We had a mechanic check it. My husband was told it is throwing a code on the internal computer that says the wipers are stuck on high. We're still trying to figure out how to fix it ourselves. Not sure if this helps but something to check into. Ours works 98 % of the time when its dry and they aren't needed but then as soon as it rains they don't want to come on or they will but stop in the middle of the windshield.
