hi i have been thinking why there are so many threads on here about front tow points is the one jeep give us not strong enough? or do people not know about it? i am going bush in a few weeks and would like your thoughts on its strength.

its plenty strong enough...as long as you are on level ground and preferably a sealed road, if you look under the front theres a tow point thats strong enough basically part of the chassis

I assume it is strong enough... if you have one... The US Patriots do not have the front tow point like that (or if anything is there it is hidden by the US bumper). The only US Patriot with a tow hook is the trail rated edition.
 
Thanks for posting the pics. I have been researching adding those removeable tow eyes but now I'm wondering if the "block" your eyes screw into are only welded to the underside of the bumper, or is there more to it than the pics reveal? If they only mount to the sheet metal bumper, I'd be inclined to go with the best of both worlds and modify the OEM tow hook to accomodate an eye, by perhaps adding a female threaded adapter to the end. Kinda like this . . .

. . . the only other thing I'd change is shorten up the tow eye and use one with the same diameter as the OEM hook, which appears to be .75" (in case you're not doing a straight line pull).
