Door seals

Just noticed that my door seals sag slightly in the 2 top corners of every door and don't stay tight in the channel. Just wondering if anyone else experience's or has noticed ? I checked my wife's 11 Compass and the seals are the same way.

I noticed this a few years back & what I did was peel off the door trim around

the corners and pulled up slightly on it where it goes down behind the plastic

trim causing it to stretch slightly. I then re-positioned the trim back into the

corners and its been nice a snug tight in the corners ever since. It seems the

trim is of low quality and it just can't grip the sheet metal well enough. Also

the assembly workers may be not tucking in the trim well enough. Another

possibility is that Chrysler in another cost cutting measure are cutting the

door trim just an inch too short and when installing the trim from the bottom

up there isn't enough slack to properly seat the trim into the corners.

Needless to say mine are just fine!!:D

It's a Chrysler thing. My wife's 2000 Intrepid did it, and so does my 2011 Pat. If it gets really bad the wind will whistle a little through them and it will be drafty. The easiest thing to do is find where the split is and push from there to take up the slack. There will be about a 1" gap between the too ends, but the wind stops whistling and the draft goes away.

Noticed a sag in the door seal on my 2014 Patriot Latitude last week, when it was -13 Fahrenheit (-25 Celsius). It was at the top left of each rear door.
This was in the early morning.
By noon, the seals were back in place. Temperature had "warmed" to 20 F (-6.6 C).
Apparently, the rubber shinks in very cold temperatures, but returns to normal at a certain point.
Because this is a 2014, and still very much under warranty, I'm thinking of bringing it back to the dealer for seal replacement.
What do you think? Worth it?

I had to peel mine down and re-attach it a little extra snug. From time to time it would whistle on the freeway and it seems to do it a lot less now.
