Creaking noise from rear suspension after lift

Hi Guy's,

I have installed the RRO lift on the Pat.
The front end is quiet as but the rear end makes some noises.

Symptoms are as follows:

1. While reversing out of the drive way or pulling into a drive way and when one wheel is higher than the other the back end creaks.
2. Going over larger bumps in the road the back end makes noises.
If at a stand still I open the tail gate and push the end up and down all is quiet.
3. When I go over changes in road and go over a crease in the road it feels as if the back skips over the bump instead of rolling over the crease in the road.

Man it really echoes from the back to the front.

I have lubed all joints at the back a few times now and its still there.

I'm wondering if the springs need to settle now a bit after things being lifted and that the Pat needs a few k's to settle down.
The front end is all fine.
I've called ARB who installed the lift for me have booked it in after lunch on Fri for them to look at.

Just wondering is anyone else had any probs after install such as this and then it settled down some what?

I am wondering if ARB used any grease on the bushings and sleeve with the new arms as per the instruction from RRO.

I just had mine installed last Thurs. Looks and rides great, couldn't be happier. This AM first thing, I noticed a creaking in the passenger rear quarter. As the morning wore on it went away. It happened when I backed out of the driveway, and when I hit some bigger bumps. Now its end of day and still not doing it. Sounded like it was either dry,not lubricated or it needed a bushing.

Thanks for the feed back.

Well I took the Pat back to ARB on Fri and told them to grease up the control arms and then tighten things back up. The change was instant. Creaking over any crease in the road or big bumps all gone. Whisper quiet now.

I only get some creaking when I back out or go up our driveway and then it is almost 100% less than before but you can still notice it. Also if I go around a sharp corner I get a slight noise.

But all much less now than before.

I've spoken to a few owners on another forum about this and they have all said that that they have had the same thing but for about 2-3 weeks after install then it went away.

I'll report back in 2 weeks time on the problem.

I did speak to RRO and there feed back was check all the bolts. Yep did that about 10 times now.

It's my turn to get that squeaking sounds from my rear suspension after the lift. I normally hear it when I go over speed bumps and in/out of my driveway (even the uneven surface of my gravel driveway has made it squeak a few times).

Hope it'll either go away in time, or maybe I'll have to ask em to tighten and lube it all up once more!

Hi Buddy, I replied to you in the other thread. Make sure that all the areas are greased up really good. My installer said that they did at the start but when this happened I went back and asked to get the control arms off so that I could have a look and no grease was used. After it was greased up all became silent.

Thanks guy I'll take your advice and bring it in. I think it's about time now for them to re-check the bolts or do any tightening anyway. I'll make sure they'll grease it up!

Actually not only it squeaks, but sometimes a 'thumping' sound - or close to a 'knocking' sound... ya know its hard to describe by words really ;)

I've got about 4k miles on my lift with two decent trips down rough forest roads and some heavy mudding...my suspension is creaking front and rear (really bad)...I can hear it creak from just doing normal stops and starts at red lights or stop signs, let alone over all bumps...I'm not sure what all I need to grease and what grease I should be using...any suggestions?

**UPDATE** Just got my Jeep back from the shop. Still squeaking in the rear suspension as before, even after the lube job and re-tightening. I'm gonna call to see if they have in fact done the lubing part (since I had a few other things done to the vehicle at the same time).

I wonder if this squeaking will have any long term affects. Perhaps somehow the noises may disappear over time as the parts are afterall, still brand new(?)

Now, its my clutch's turn to squeak... damn this thing squeaks a helluva lot!

Had the RR lift installed on Tuesday. Right away I noticed a noise in the rear when the wheels are articulating. Went back to the installer and he told me that he heard it too, and had rechecked all the hardware was tightened. He suggested I put it up on a jack and look for an interference between the new pieces and the spring. Where should the grease be applied?
Thanks!
