12 days ago during a snowstorm after a rain a young lady went around a corner way to fast for conditions and then overcorrected into my lane.
I swerved towards the ditch but she still got the driver's side front bumper and hit the wheel on that side so hard it bent so much stuff along the suspension and even cracked the engine cradle.
Insurance told me today that they're totalling it out and I can't find anything like the one I had out there so I'll be a member with no Patriot.
loved the thing, went through a lot and while it had little things that broke I never had issues at all with reliability.
I've seen quite a few Renegades and will probably end up with one of them.
The Patriots I've seen are either junk that people didn't maintain or so freaking expensive for what they are.
I'll still try to help out other Patriot owners with answers I might have with my experiences.
This is a very good group, not once have I seen anyone degrade another member for asking a question of any sort.
Keep up the great work all !

Thanks, my door was jammed so I couldn't get out and she ran over to my car and was so relieved she didn't kill me.
Said OMG I thought I killed you.
I was pissed at first, 25mph corner when it's dry and she was going at least 35mph+ but I saw how upset she was with herself I didn't harp on it.
Her Ford Escape was a mess, hood was folded into the windshield and pretty much the entire front end was gone.
Her airbags went off, mine didn't.
It is what it is, she told the state police she was at fault and hopefully she'll learn from it.

Hello Jeep friend so sorry about your wreck. Most important that you are ok, and no one was hurt. if you buy anything make sure it has a 7-slot grill.

Careful what you say, Fiats have 7 slot grills on some models these days.

Alternatively though, it may be possible to buy it back and do a "6 million dollar man" job on it. Stronger. Faster. Better. That sort of thing.

😢 Sorry to hear about your Patriot. A reliable vehicle is hard to replace. The new ones of any brand have so much electronics that they really aren't reliable. I'm on the Compass site and I think electronics are the leading problem since they got the oil consumption problem solved.

Shop carefully and don't buy it if the dealer says, "Just bring it back next week and we'll take care of that warning on your dashboard."

Very sorry to hear of your Patriot loss. Very glad that you seem to have no injuries. My unsolicited advice based on my wife being hit head-on 12 years ago:

- Go to your doctor and get a physical examine to record any aches and pains. Get it on record. My wife developed life long serious health issues that were only aches and pains after her accident. You cannot fathom how important it is to have a paper trail from the get go.

- Make sure that your insurance makes you whole. Since the other driver admitted fault, her insurance should be ultimately paying all costs. Don't let them low ball you, especially in today's market.

Accidents are traumatic and life changing in so many ways. I wish you the best in overcoming the obstacles. I hope you find a decent replacement. Good luck sir!!!!

I recently bought a 2014 Jeep Patriot sport. Paid just under 12000 fr it. I love it. I am new to this forum but have a lot of questions, Just an fyi there are a lot of Jeep Patriots available online in Vegas. Hope this helps. Did I pay too much? I am planning on travelling(doing van life). I know it's kinda small but I think I can make it work. Also adopted a 5yr old Pittie to join me on my future adventures. If you or anyone have any advice, comments or trips would really appreciate it. Will start in a few months and have an open time frame. Sincerely, Qgyp

You may want to keep an eye on the auctions and look for a clean title or Pure Sale Jeep vehicle. (Salvage titles are not accepted in some states.) Auctions like Copart and IAA are nationwide. You may have to spend about a grand or more for shipping but if the price and fees are low enough it may work out.
