The old lady has a 10 Pat Sport. She got the gas cap message a while ago, and subsequently codes 0455, 0456. Gas cap was replaced, and I believe the MIL light went away for a bit? Can't remember. The MIL light is currently on
What's got me stumped is that when I do the ignition trick to get my codes... I get no codes. Brought to Autozone, he told me they're stored codes. I said so what does that mean? Either have somebody with a code reader clear it? As he said he isn't allowed to do it. Or maybe remove the battery terminal for a bit?
He told me either would work. Went home, removed ground cable for 2 hours. Replaced. MIL still there.
My question is...if the ignition trick is showing no codes, and I removed the battery terminal, why is the MIL still there? I don't want to take it to a shop just to have the code cleared. Any ideas?
