So did the autozone guy not even go out and check to see if he could run the codes? If he didn't take it back out there and tell them to run the odb2 reader on it, or take it to advanced auto or napa...any auto parts store will have a code reader, it might be a pain for them to run out there to read it but that part of their job...

I once stopped at advanced and the guy couldn't get the scanner to turn on, he throw his hands up after several attempts and said theres something wrong with your port you need to take it to the dealer asap...so instead I went straight to autozone where theirs fired right up and read my codes no problem...diagnosis. ..dead battery in advance autos odb2 reader...

It could possibly be a different code than 0455, 0456 unless the gas cap is loose or faulty, working as it should you would only need a certain amount of drive cycles to clear those codes granted if indeed it were the gas cap throwing the codes.

I have had 0456 several times in my short ownership of this rig and what I have found out is that I either have a wonky oem fuel cap or filler neck "theres a little rust on one spot of the filler neck and its a little buldged there"
My gas cap feels loose when i go to tighten it up except for a couple places when turning it. So I make sure that i stop on one of those spots so that its tight...if not then I get a small evap leak and the mil light comes on aka 0456. I tighten the cap up and within a few drive cycles it goes off.
