Breaking news that:Chrysler Offers Up to $6,000 in Rebates to Stem Slide
What are the incentives in your local dealers? There is nothing on their web-site, as they refer all buyers to their dealers to find out current incentives?

As in the past, incentives depend on your location. Canada is different than the US, Maryland is different than Colorado.

That's why when you're on the Chrysler website, it asks for your ZIP CODE before you can calculate your payments, to see what incentives are in your region.

New Incentives Have Been Posted

Here are the following new incentives on the Jeep.com website:

Jeep Patriot = none
Jeep Compass = none
Jeep Commander = up to $3,500 ($2,500 for non-loyalty salees)
Jeep Grand Cherokee = up to $4,000 ($3,000 for non-loyalty sales)
Jeep Liberty = up to $3,000 ($2,000 for non-loyalty sales)
Jeep Wrangler = up to $2,000 ($1,000 for non-loyalty sales)
Jeep Wrangler Unlimited = up to $2,000 ($1,000 for non-loyalty sales)

It appears that these incentives are directly targeted towards softening the huge sales decline for the respective models. They are trying to make up profits on their two highest profit margin vehicles (GC and Commander) while giving up hope all together on the Compass and the Patriot. The Wrangler saw a 7% increase in sales so there wasn't much of a need to offer a big incentive there.

For Patriot both in the US & Canada, the deal is worst than previous months?? As with your comment that they are giving up hope on Compass & Patriot?? What do you mean by that? A lot of dealers still have tons of these kicking around, especially the 4 X 2s? Do they think having the Rocky Mountain Edition will be enough incentive to move all these SE units & piss on the others until end of year clearance?

According to my dealer, who ownes several dealerships, they have been selling a lot of patiriots and compasses, not many other Jeep models.. A few wranglers, but Patriot and compass sales are dominating.

That is certainly good news, hope their numbers will pick up for the month of May, as there is still over 100 days of inventory left the last count.

This is why I bought a 4x4, just wish I had the Low gear model. I figured at re-sale, if someone is wanting a Jeep, they'd expect it to have 4x4.

Good call with the 4x4, likely will pay off down the road. As with 4x4 with FDII, those are even harder to come by.

Latest update on the Patriot incentives. Now on top of the Canada Choice Incentives, they have added the Chrysler Buy With Confidence Warranty.

What it means is you can take either $1000 off your Patriot or 90 days no payment & 3 month pay break offers. I assume this is the Canadian version of the big push to rid inventory in the US.

I was in a pinch last month and either had to put a bunch of money into my old Cherokee or buy another car - got my Patriot, which I'm enjoying (employee pricing plus some cash back) Got a pretty good deal I think, but now I'm hearing talk of a government "cash for clunkers" program where they offer up to 4500 for your old clunker to put toward a newer more fuel efficient vehicle....don't know if or when that will take effect, but I sure could have used that a month ago!!

According to the Jeep.com web site, you can claim your sales tax back in your 2009 income tax next year, when you purchase a Jeep? Seems like new incentives keep rolling out as we head into summer.

that's nothing new...you have always been able to list your sales tax from a purchase of a car on your tax return. if that wasn't the case, then everyone would flock to Delaware to buy a vehicle with 0% sales tax. No one wants to pay 6%-8% for sales tax on a purchase that totals $25,000 !!! ha!

the big kicker would be if you would get another tax deduction based on the purchase price of a car :smiley_thumbs_up:
