Hellas club VS PA-riots 1-1
Which reminds me.... Fall meet-up anyone? I'm living out in Pittsburgh now though, so I would appreciate something near the middle of the state so that it is less than a 3.5 hour drive. I also have my hitch on so I finally have a rear recovery point! Now just to do the rest of my mods....
I know that I am new and not in the know of everything around here but I will going to an off-road event September 26-27 in Eau Claire, PA. it is about 1 hour 45 minutes north of Pittsburgh where I live. I went in august but could not take my patriot on the stocker trail because my FD I does not have front and rear tow hooks or a CB radio but my brother in laws TJ has that and over 8" lift for the moderate trail ride, so I still had fun. This is a legit meeting with sponsors and a lot of fun. the website for info is
outbackoffroadadventure. until rocky-road "meets the demand for the lift" I will be the winch cable runner but all in fun.
I could handle a fall meet, but doubt that I'd head much further than a few hours away. Pittsburgh would be a bit of a haul for a 1-2 day event. Anything out near Harrisburg might work though.
My place is about 3.5 hours from Pittsburgh, north central PA. Attractions near by are, Ski Denton, the PA Lumber Museum, Pine Creek Gorge or the Grand Canyon of PA, and if you're into Astronomy Cherry Springs State park is a designated Dark Skies Park, just about the only one in the eastern US.
Let me know if some of you want to meet after the Holidays. I'm always there anyway.
That would make a fun weekend trip. I've always wanted to see the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania and I could bring up my 4" tasco telescope for a little night sky fun too. I'd be down for something like that myself. Maybe Gaze and I can caravan from the philly area, pick up terasec where 80 meets the NE extension-476 (provided he's more towards NYC then mid state). Have a fuel mileage contest heading there, winner get's free lunch or dinner or something.
In the summer you can use the bike trail through the canyon, or walk it, or you can float Pine Creek through it too.
If you cross country ski, there are trail all around, and you might even be able to ski the trail in the canyon. If you have a snowmobile, bring it too.
