Car cranking long when warm (intermittant)

So here is the issue.

I can start my car when cold and it will be perfectly fine.

When it is warm or hot, (after I turn off to go grab a coffee) it sounds like its not going to start. It cranks very slow and quiet but it does start up.

Issue is intermmitant.

Any suggestions?

Battery if load tested and is fine. Starter? What else?

I am worried one day it won't actually crank hard enough to start. It almost sounds like its dieing/struggling to start the car.

Issue been ongoing for the last 2 years but I am getting worried now as it seems to have been a bit more worse.

Next time, try cycling the key two or three times and see if it starts faster. That would double/triple prime the fuel injectors. Perhaps a low fuel pressure or vapor problem when hot?

Oh and check/clean/tighten the battery terminals?

Don't know why you'd be asking about your car in a Jeep forum..... ;-)

If it cranks slow I would replace the battery. Average battery life is four year so you're due anyways if that is the original battery. Heat strains the battery so it makes sense in my mind. As for the load test, my jeep left me stranded si I jumped it, drove 20 miles to the autoparts store, it wouldn't restart. Cleaned the terminals, no change. Pulled it, took it inside where it tested fine. Bought a replacement anyways and that fixed it. So I wouldn't always trust the test. That was on a six or seven year old battery.
