Sounds cool. You could always use plasti dip and just peel it off if you don't like the outcome.

I think you should test out the look. Go for it.

 

It is your rig so you can do whatever you want. I agree on using plastidip since it is reversible.

 

Just started on the red look tonight - made my emblems red with an off-brand plastidip (local store didn't sell the real deal) and also tinted my tail lights + front turn signals. I wasn't gonna do that part yet but I had to replace a bulb anyways so figured I'd tint them while they were off. I'll post pics tomorrow

I think the next step will be to figure out some way to make my rims red. I've got the rims in this pic but I painted the inner grey star black. I might paint the insides of the 5 triangle things red and finish off the rest of the rim with black (like the third pic).

How did I miss this thread before? I think this is a really nifty color combination.

Shoulda stuck with the red idea on the wheels, too. Not too much, just some red accents. Maybe instead of the chrome? Or highlight the chrome?

Maybe add red pin-stripes on the sides?

 

Nice ... I was actually looking at this earlier, $20 on ebay ... for a bit more of a subtle look on the badges.
