I have a 2008 black limited pat, and I'm thinkin about lowering it, rather than lifting it like everyone else haha. I dont do much offroad so im just tryin to make it look nice, low, with new rims and a new grill. anybody have any experience lowering these or know anyone who has?

Thanks,
Jeff

theresa few of us here. I for one am one. Slammed no but am Lowered 1.5-2inches, nothing major but you can tell in the way the Pat sits and handles, I went with H&R Racing Springs from tire-rack. I really like the way it looks. I feel i can stuff 19's or 20's under it now. I'm sitting on 18's as it is.

Hope you don't mind Jeep Bastard (but I hate when random dudes get in my nice shots)

so I took care of him for ya - probably could wipe out some of that grass that got in the way of the front bumper too...

yes, superduper, the original question was if anybody had slammed one, but the conversation expanded to just lowering as well. no one has stepped forward with a truly slammed one....at least not yet....well, with the exception of the photoshopped one above....looks pretty cool though...wish I could get ahold of one of those front bumper covers too.

I sincerely hope no one lowered a 4X4 vehicle. Just saying...

Agreed!

yep, mine is a 4x4, and its slammed.
It wont go much lower than this, unless you have smaller rim & tyre combination which would give you more fender gap or you would need to tub it, which would be a large job.
I was going to bag it, but i just bought a house and the money i had for the bags furnished the whole house with all new furniture.

I suppose I can go with that. I guess lowering it makes it kind of like an AWD station wagon or subaru. While, I do disagree with it not being a capable off road vehicle. I've been hunting in the slop my entire life, and i've owned nothing but trucks, 2 and 4 wheel drive. My little Patriot is better in mud than ANY of my trucks ever wished they would be. All I did was swap out the tires. Will it go through 2 feet of mud? Of course not, as it's limited by it's ground clearance. But apples to apples, stock vehicle to stock vehicle, it will run circles around a big heavy pick up. They are light, they have good power to weight ratio, and with good tires, they will most certainly perform exceptionally well in the more common off road scenarios.
