Ok so I have my whole headunit install finished as you can see in the picture. But I was wondering if anyone had any good ideas of a mount or a way to mount my 16G ipod nano??? The wires are coming from the storage tray so I would like to find a mount that could just clip onto the side lip of the storage tray. Anyone seen anything like this??? Ive looked everywhere. I dont want to run it up to my vents b.c my 7" screen will hit it. And I dont want to run it to the cup holder b.c the wires would make it look messy. I like the clean look, but just want the ipod to be in a good place. It would look best on the left side lip of the storage tray b.c it would perfect for accessing!

I have a small iPod Shuffle that I use with the Aux input. On the back of the iPod I have placed a square of loop velcro, and just under and to the left of the volume knob, an equal sized square of hook velcro. I use a cable just long enough to plug into both the Shuffle and Aux input jacks. Nice and tidy...

I know the Nano is a bit larger, regardless of which generation you have, than my Shuffle, but looking at your photo, there is room on the left side to mount it. This also makes it easy to remove and charge when needed.

Just thought I would share what I use. Maybe that might help you as well...

Yeah, Thanks ive been considering that, one b.c its cheap and two b.c I looks like the only logical option. The only thing im worried about is that velcro usually leaves behind a horrible residue. Thanks that is probably what ill do though.

I have been trying to figure something out too. I have an 8gig ipod and a pioneer stereo with a usb port. I used some double sided 3m tape to secure the usb cable to the open cubby under the radio and have a usb to ipod cable I plug in. When I use the ipod though i have a cable dangling from the usb port and my ipod upside down in the cup holder. I want to find a way to set it up so all I have to do is plug the ipod in and have all the cables hidden.

Over the last few years, Apple has changed the dimensions of the ipod depending on the model. I think the old 3rd and 4th gen ones fit but since then they've been made slimmer/ wider/ taller....and more expensive!:D

If you have the 60Gb and up it should fit in the cubby hole on center console but the wire situation would be crappy I think. If you look at mine, there are openings in the bottom corner of my tray. Heck if you wanted you could dremel or drill a hole in the back corner for the cordes to feed back to the cd/dvd player. Thats if you have the hook up for it. You would have to have a aftermarket deck with the right setup. Mine has AUX in so I was good! When I get some velcro i'll post the pics.

Perfet thing

If you don't mind spending money for a quality product, use what i have.

Front View | Side View It expands and detracts for different size objects.

It's from Kuda USA Mounting Base and the holder. It is awesome, one of the most productive products that I have purchased for my jeep. Also since I have a vertical and horizontal player you can purchase the swivel mount, or just do what I did and use some velcro.

Hope this helps.

I can't tell what kind of deck you have, but if it has IPod control (not just a line in) then I'd recommend hiding the whole thing in the glovebox or center console. in both my old civic and now my wife's scion the iPod lives in the glovebox. It only sees the light of day to occasionally sync new music.

The ipod stays hidden from prying eyes. Gives thieves one less reason to break in.

That's exactly where mine resides.

Yeah it does hook up in the back but it doesnt work on the interface of the dvd player. Dont know why but this is what I have....Jensen UV8. Wish there was some kind of hook up where it would work threw the dvd touch screen but I dont know if its capible.

well if all else fails, you can go up to your closest Apple store, find a case thats either plastic, or Faux Leather wrapped around plastic and, then get epoxy and slap on the back of the shelf above the glove box, and i say leather wrapped because usually leather wrapped ones are plastic and the leather is just crudely glued on anyways,

and yes, ths might win you a ******* award :D

but im not sure what you would really be able to do, as you can see here i have the stock dash with an AUX jack, so all i really do is set my ipohone down with my wallet in the space provide infront of the cupholders on the driver's side.

so idk, maybe it would just be easier to find a little space?

Well I ended up taking some velcro and putting it to the right of my DVD player. The cords are outta the way and I think it looks clean. Looks ok to me....I'll post pic later.

I've also gone the velcro way, except mine is for a full sized pocket pc (which I have a 2gb sd card laoded with tunes).

Here's how I mounted mine. I just made a bracket that mounts behind the radio bezel.
