Started my new car purchase journey about 8 weeks ago with the requirements that gas mileage had to be above and price below 20. I guess you could call it my 20/20 rule. I've owned various vehicles over the years and the only brand restriction was absolutely no Saturns. You wouldn't believe me if I told the problems I've had with Saturns.
I had purchased a Kia Sedona for the wife 4 years ago and it's been a really great vehicle so my first call was to the Kia dealer. The Spectra fit my requirements so with a staring price and a model off I went comparison shopping. Looked at the Cobalt, Fusion etc... Surprisingly, while surfing the net I came across some info on the Patriot. Ok, I thought to myself, really good price but I'm looking for a vehicle with decent gas mileage. Imagine my surprise when the Patriots mpg were as good if not better than most of the cars I was looking at. It was an easy sell to the wife. She had been concerned about having a small vehicle and with the Patriot we'd have interchangeable vehicles.
Anyways, we bought a brand new 2008 Jeep Patriot Sport 4X2 for 14,800 out the door three weeks ago. Couple of minor issues but so far so good.
