after 3 months and 3250km done on my new 2010 patriot off road edition.

i like the handling
power is good anaught for me...even wit my trailer and 2 kayaks on it.

nice size to park in city.
features are ok.

what i dont like.

the gas compsomtion is more then i taught it would be.

dont like the way to top bar ontop are so close together.

wish i would be a good 2 to 3 inch higher...and a bit more ground clearence.

other then that satisfy.

ya my city mileage isn't the greatest either. Then again 95% of my driving is in the city within traffic. Look at my fuelly sig :(

But thats expected when all i do is stop and go!

27-28-31 mpg

for my Pat.
Drove from Fergus to Tobermory and back averaging 31 mpg--mostly open highway, in cruise doing 80 k's with a 2.4 engine.

We live in a rural area and I use cruise as much as possible averaging 27-28 mpg.

And like someone else I wish I could sit higher for more vision over the hood. At such times I miss my van.

i do have the seat riser....my prob is not to look out its the ground clearance.and the look...a 2 to 3 inch would be better for both.

for the gas..sher is agood defercn bet all city and all highway...like a good 75km per tanks off gas if not more sometime.

i do have to say i got the 4/4 and off road edition mabe a bit harder on gas.

anyway all around i am satisfy.

ho those bars on top are to close together and the front one should be like 2 foot more infront to be eaul like my wife compass bars.

The FD2, trail rated version does have lower gears, therefore a bit less mileage, but a 4x4 SUV with the capabilities we have that gets 25 MPG (My average for all around driving in summer) is pretty good IMHO.

I also would like 2-3 inches more clearance, along with a few other improvements. A 3-5 gallon bigger gas tank would be nice too.

I wonder why we need to get springs from Oz and why doesn't the OEM spring manufacturer offer springs for the Pat like from STU? Seems it would be an easy thing for them to do, and Jeep could sell those here in the US.
