THEY REALLY NEED TO COME OUT WITH A COMPLETE 4" LIFT, WOULDNT BE ABLE TO KEEP IT OFF THE SHELFS!!!! I KNOW SOMEONE KNOW A FRIEND OUT THERE.....

In the photo he posted and I added below it looks to me like he is measuring from the bottom of the door jams not the frame. If I measure mine (a patriot FDI with RRO lift and 245's) from the same spot I come up with nearly the same measurements (approx. 16" when adding in the 3" of the measuring tape).

I don't know but I think I am going to have to call BS on this one... If it were this easy RRO or another OFF Road Company would have done the same thing.

Ha! Good point Jim. I've been suspicious of this thread for a long time but never noticed something as obvious as you just pointed out.

I had every intention of coming back and being a nice guy... but then I end up being the bad guy that has to spot questionable stuff and call people on it.

This is why when I posted my pics back in the day I showed exactly where I placed the tape (at the lowest chassis point) and then showed a picture of the chassis from jeeps site and cirled the low spot! This leaves no room for error. Another member pointed out using the mirrors as a measureing point. I lifted my Jeep for additional clearance not necassarily looks (although it was a nice bonus) and thats why I chose to always measure from the low spot on the frame!

Maybe I should add this to my signature:

Keepin' it real since 2007...

Are we being pulled a fast one here? Fiction or Non-Fiction?

Is there any reason to lie? i was trying to be nice and share by mods on this forum and get criticized? you guys dont have to believe anything. I have A 2" Inch RRO lift with four additional 'spring lifts' in each coil. which total 2 MORE inches of lift on top of the RRO. And with an tire upgrade of two series. I have been trying to take pictures for a long time but i have been on vacation and very busy.

hmm..well i have no idea to tell wether or not its a fake or not, but i can say that you have a very nice jeep my friend. nuff said

just to prove my point I took this photo of mine...

and here is his...

as you can see he may have half an inch on me but that could be due to mine being a 2007 and having settled or he could have a trail rated model too. I am not sure and am not spending any more time researching this...

As far as I am concerned this myth has been put to rest. *Note I am not totally against the idea and I will believe this story with REAL PROOF and in my eyes that will be a full install story and/or final pics of it sitting next to two patriots, one lifted and one not lifted.

Why do I have to always be the A$$hole around here?

well i am definetly looking forward to a Install Tutorial, i really want to get my lil red pat lifted.

I'll side on JeepJim here until the OP provides real proof. I'm not a fan of using those springs spacers just because it puts uneven spring rate distribution along the springs, but to each his own.

So until we see real proof from the OP then I call BS as well.
Right now JeepJim has proven with real photos to compare with.

check the knowledge base forum/ suspension and wheels. look for RRO lift write up

i am, but ive never really worked on cars, rucks jeeps or really anything, so im gonna have to take my time with hit hah

I agree with you as well JeepJim. At best the OP's lift amount is misstated. At worst he's lying.

Additionally...i question the intelligence of lifting the Patriot 4". I'm not sure the CV joints would like an additional 2" in the front. Also how would you compensate for the additional camber be introduced in the rear (not sure if the RRO lift's control arms are adjustable enough).

Apologies to the OP in advance if we are proven to be bombastical in our claims.

IT'S NOT HOW MANY INCHES OF LIFT YOU HAVE, BUT WHAT YOU DO WITH IT THAT COUNTS.

give the guy a break. He's stoked on his ride, and did some customizing he wants to show off. good on you liftedmk08!

What? Like I'm not unpleasant enough as is? :p Figures though - the one time I decide to just shut up and give the guy the benefit of doubt...

give the guy a break.
Why?

Okay, so he is enthusiastic about his ride. I can understand it - I drive a Jeep Patriot myself, after all, so I know how it can be. :) But lying about doing things that he hasn't? I see no reason to tolerate that kind of behavior.

tony- how am i lying...it is obviously lifted 4" inches because i see MY jeep patriot everyday..and i look at MY lifted springs of 4" inches.....i shouldnt have to be defending myself over the internet when i know i have my lift. i mean honestly how old are we? im probably the youngest one on the site and im being the most mature

LIFTEDMK08
Look, this is my thing, I brought it up and I never said you lied.

But lets look at the facts:
We are both running 245/65R17's. But your saying you have 4" of LIFT (I will post a thread elsewhere regarding the differences between lift and clearance). I claim to have 2.125" lift, yet we both have posted photos showing we have damn near the same amount of clearance with less than a 1/2" difference. How do you explain this?

At worst I think you do not understand how lifts or lifting effects your trucks suspension. Just because the spacers add a 2" spacer does not mean you get 2" of additional lift... There is geometry at work here!

Like I said earlier I never said you lied but I do believe your are wrong. As a long time member of this forum I had to point it out because statements yours set waves of hope for many other Patriot enthusiasts only to let us all down because your information is not thoroughly documented in this post or any other I could find, and in the end was not 100% correct.
