TJL has this setup. You definitely need a lift.

Pinch weld is not an issue. Rubbing on this inside of the fender is a problem. Not sure how it would handle without a lift though.

 

any other info on this im looking to do the same and if I dont have to lift it id rather not. im looking into the BFGoodrich TA KO

 

There is no TA KO that would fit on the 17" rim (at least not on the available sizes on their website) you would have to drop to a 15 or 16" rim.

Biggest things to remember on tire sizes, 30" overall diameter and under 9.5" wide, if lifted and running spacers on stock rims or an after market rim with the proper backspacing.

if not lifted under 8.5" wide and under 28.5" over all diameter, and can be done without spacers usually.

 

Just curious, were you able to run your 245 65 17 Falkens without the lift? I figure in theory these tires should work (barely), or at least the 235 65 17 Falken WildPeak A/T tires should work without a lift kit.

 

what about the 225 70 r17? its only 29.4 and 8.86? i may lift if I have to to fit this tire

 

I would suggest lifting and get rims with at least a +30mm offset. Stock rims have a +40mm offset.

 

if im going to get rims im going to move to down to a 16 inch for sure, id just like to find the cheapest way possible to find a more aggresive tire option. I was thinking going to a TJ MOAB and running a 205/80r16 Kuhmo MT

TJ Moab are too wide for 205 series tires. They are 8" wide and it's usually recommended at least 235 series tires.

Just ordered some 205/80r16 kuhmo MT got all four shipped for 399.96

I would recommend you trying to find a wheel NO wider than 7"in though.

 

Now you would need to find 6.5" wide rim to mount those tires. Stock steelies would do but they aren't pretty.

Rubbed like a cheap masseuse... Lift and spacers was required for sure. I probably could have gotten away with spacers and flattening out the pinch weld with the 235's, but you have a 4x2, which has shorter springs than a 4x4, so I can't say for sure what your experience will be.

 

yea I've been looking I found some stockers on craigslist but like said they are not pretty. Im gonna keep looking mines well do it right the first time and find something I like.

 

I honestly like the oem 16's in chrome. There is a red 2013 by my work I see all the time with em and it looks awesome! This is the only pic I could find online of a 2011+ with the oem chrome 16's.

 

Yeah they arent bad but problem is trying to find them cheap
