I'd go with the bigger ones. I like the extra height and it should fit. I have the regular 17 inch rims and have no complaints.

 

Well they are both bigger (than stock)
Kinda like the Grantland tread better, hope its not loud tho.

 

Running 225/65r17 myself. No rub before I got my lift and spacers. I say go for it.

 

I've been running 225/65R17's on mine for about 2-3 years now. I do get a very slight rub when turned hard against the steering lock, but otherwise no noticable difference. Mine are the Firestone Destination LE2's and they've been absolutely fantastic.

 

Option 2.....

Not sure what year your Patriot is but mine runs that tire size with no rub and no modifications.

 

2014 so yea should be good.
So far in that size the Milestar Grantland's are $64.42 each at DTD - can't find any other tire this size for this price.

 

That's cheap.... in my area most places charge 50 bucks for used tires...

 

I like the tire sizing of the second one, but after reading the reviews, I’d probably stick with the Firestone’s like Todd’s. Any tire with a consistent review of 5 out of 10, in several different categories, doesn’t make my list.

 

I've put the Milestars on a few trucks in the extended family and they have been good thus far.
I cannot stand the Firestones on the Jeep that are on there now. Too hard, poor traction, and the loudest tire I can remember!

 

I agree - however to a point. For this $64.42 tire Discount Tire is obviously making money and when Bob's tire shop in Anywhere, USA is buying them he is obviously getting them for less than retail cost and is making a similar profit margin as Discount is. I have no problem having them add a few bucks on top of that for profit (and remember they are also making their main profit on the labor part of installation). The problem is when they are charging in many cases a 100% increase on the product. While local businesses are fantastic and needed - unfair business practices are not - the internet (and companies like Discount Tire) has forced these local business to stop their practice of unfair pricing schemes to the consumer. Because of that - yes - many have went out of business and more may join them in the future.

Discount tire stopped carrying the Grantlands so I bought them elsewhere - disappointed that they not match me with another similar tire at the same price.
They offered a new off brand China tire with lower specs for a few bucks more per tire.

Anyways - got em and to be installed later this week.

 

Got em, installed, and they look near identical to the smaller stock tires, no rub.
Better grip than the OEM Firestones and most important way quieter.

For $64 a tire - highly recommended - just remember Discount is not carrying these anymore.
