2013 Jeep Patriot?

Do any of you out there know if the 2013 Patriot will be complete re-design and if so is there a chance that the mileage will improve? I really like my 2007 FDII, but I am ready to dump it and buy something that will get better mileage. I am averaging only around 21mpg even after adding a K&N air cleaner and custom exhaust system. This is just not good enough for a small SUV like the Patriot.

The Belvidere plant that makes the Patriot is going to start making the Dodge Dart next year. If the Patriot and Compass are going to stay around, they'll be redesigned around that platform.

Given the amount of ads I've seen for the Compass, the Patriot may go away and the Compass may hang around. With gas prices the way they are, there should still be a market for a 4 cyl. small SUV.

I am sure the new platform will bring a ton of refinement to the model(s). Other than in mid-high end vehicles this is something Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep has lacked for decades really. This refinement makes sense for the Dart and perhaps the Compass, but to me not the Pat.

I would be immensly disappointed to lose the Pat in it's current clothes and platform. I have liked it since the day they came out for it's efficiency, practicality yet urban/rugged style and utility. To replace it I would most likely be looking elsewhere as I do not like the compass, can't afford the GC and don't need the complete off-road capability that the Wrangler Unlimited offers (I have a fam. and need 4 doors).

I know we all know very little right now, but based on articles like this, spy pictures like this, the fact you don't see advertising for the Patriot anywhere anymore (all Compass) and the overlap of the Pat/Compass, the deletion of this model seems likely.

The don't build cars to sell to me...would not make sense as I keep them for 8-10 years anyways, they build them for the masses.

The black 2012 Ford Escape 4WD was actually my first choice over the Jeep Patriot.

The 2012 Escape has to be the most popular car in NYC. It seems almost everyone drives one (including NYPD and the Taxi services):

However, every Ford dealership I went a few weeks ago swore they didn't have of the new 2012's in stock anymore to sell. Instead they tried to sell me the 2013 monstrosity:

Needless to say, I thought I was screwed until I came across the Jeep Patriot, and it saved me from soccer mom mobile that almost every crossover has turned into.

Thank you, Jeep!

i believe they will replace the pat but keep the compass considering the amount of money they put in it for advertising and what not. We were about to get one in 2010 and its as if no dealership had any. Now compass is in the spotlight. You may want to consider that they fiat wont ditch the dodge/jeep frame and have a whole new frame. the caliber would also go bye bye also.

According to Market Watch, "Jeep brand sales increased 30 percent in February compared with the same month in 2011, the brand's best February since 2007. February marked the brand's 22nd-consecutive month of year-over-year sales gains. All five Jeep brand models recorded double-digit sales gains in February."
You can read the whole story here: [http://www.marketwatch.com/story/ch...ebruary-2012-us-sales-increased-40-percent-best-february-since-2008-2012-03-01]

With sales increases like that, the geniuses at Fiat/Chrysler will have to do something to slow sales down, like drop the Patriot. -) [tongue-in-cheek sarcasm]

Jeep sales increased in February because they were offering rebates. Those all expired in March. So of course their sales were up in February. When I bought my new Patriot, I asked if I should wait until later in the year to get at 2013 model. The car salesman at the Jeep Dealership said he didn't think they were continuing the Patriot, only the Compass. But he may have just been trying to get me to buy... which he did.

Is this still the case? My local dealer can trade for the exact Patriot I want but I would prefer to wait until after the summer vacation season and expenses before buying. I just don't want to miss out when I have found the exact vehicle.

There going to be making a newly designed patriot model for 2014 it's been a confirmed rumor. The Pat is here to stay, what it will look like after 2014 is another question but it's still keeping the Patriot name. Compass is gone, it will be replaced with the 2014 Patriot. Hoping they keep the patriot look over the compass look.

As you know by now, it's the same as the 2012 with a few cosmetic changes and the addition of Arctic (non-metallic gray). My 2011 Patriot (5-speed) consistently gets 29 mpg for mixed driving and 31 mpg on the highway. A friend with a FDII CVT gets mid to upper 20s for mixed driving. I can't imagine what the problem is with yours, even with a CVT. I'm trying to find out from the dealer when the production of 2013 models will end. Mine is at 40K miles, and I want a new one to get me another couple of years before having to replace it -- i.e., 6 more years instead of 4 (22K miles per year).

I loved the past generation of Escapes/Tributes, but that new Escape is hideous! To me it's a bloated Focus. Seriously, take a good look at the front of it next time you see one and it'll hit yah. Anyways I do however like the new Mazda CX5. It's more sporty lookin but it's definitely a soccer mom SUV which is what turned me off when looking at them. Being completely honest; if the Subaru Crosstrek's would have come out at the beginning of the summer rather than just recently and if they were cheaper, I probably wouldn't be a member on here/own a Patriot lol I really like those.
