Hi everyone,

It's been a while...I wound up trading my '12 Patriot in on a '14 GC Laredo with some really nice goodies on it. I have added a hitch, a cooler front fascia from the Overland, tow hooks, and SRT grille, it looks badass!! Someone bought and drove this car for 3 weeks and then returned it, and I got a great deal on it. The GC is an awesome ride, even the base model with 3.6 V-6 has almost 300 HP, and an 8-speed auto!! I love it!!

I really enjoyed owning the Patriot, and had planned on keeping it for a long time, until I decided to get a small R-Pod travel trailer. The Patriot would only tow 2000 lbs, and the R-Pod is 3,500 lbs GTW.

It's been really great being a part of this community!

Here is a photo of the new rig and trailer:

Is that a pic with all the mods done?

Congratulations on the GC purchase.. I love the subtle changes to the 14 over the prior years. The headlights are a huge upgrade over the previous years.

The GC would be a vehicle I'd love to own as a parent, but since I'm 26 my next Vehicle will be a Wrangler.

The 3.6L is now standard on all trim levels, the Hemi or 3.0L Diesel are options. Another thing that is impressive is the fuel economy on the highway - the GC will get a solid 25 MPG on the highway, even going over a mountain pass. It's kind of mystifying to me that a heavier, bigger engined vehicle gets better mileage?

MB - in the photo of the GC, I had only added the hitch at that point. I did the lower fascia, SRT grille, and tow hooks all at once. Here's what it looks like now:

The SRT grille is honeycomb shaped instead of vertical slats, it ties the front end together nicely I think.

Engine efficiency and technology has come a long way, the powertrains in the MK platform are prehistoric compared to the GC, that's why you can get better mileage AND better performance.

My dads company car lease Challenger is 4200lbs with the 3.6 pentastar rated at 305hp, and trust me that thing can get up and go, my dad drives it very conservatively however and he averages 26mpg city/highway in the winter and 29-30mpg city/highway in the summer, and this is all in rush hour traffic. So yes a 300+hp muscle car gets better mileage than my moms Patriot XD
