I was in the dealership today and asked about tow hooks( I'm thinking to install them my self) when I was quoted the price it was $199CND for the front right hook and $202CND for the left, is this price right?? Is there a better place/site to order parts then the dealership?

Thanks

$140 USD each according to willh.

Check the Knowledge Base Exterior forum. Lot's of info on tow hooks.

Here's my 2 cents from driving an FDII for a year - get skid plates before you get tow hooks. Then get the lift kit before you get tow hooks. Then get tow hooks.

I've used the skids a thousand times
I've used the lift to reduce using the skids
I've used the hooks once, and have seen them used another time to pull out another truck. Not from lack of trying though.

I just checked and I didn't see any front tow hooks for the Patriot listed. I seen them for the Wrangler. Flint what four tow hooks are you looking at? The trail rated Patriots only come with three hooks total 2 in front and 1 in the rear left side.

Not too bad a price at all $278 :smiley_thumbs_up: Has everything except the large through bolt at the rear most end of the hook and also the most important bolt. Although a grade 8 bolt for it can be purchased at any hardware or auto parts store.

Looks like these things are starting to go down in price a little bit.

I am a little confused by the wholesale website. Once you get into the front bumper and grill section it has an option for tow hook and tow hook bracket. Once tow hook is selected it has an option for #1 and #2. I selected #1 and it says left and right with prices, but are these the right parts for the front two tow hooks? What is the the "tow hook bracket"? Any clarification on what is correct would help. Thanks.

The hooks are priced seperate right and left and aren't cheap. The bracket is the part that clips into the bumper and it has the nuts built in it for the front two bolts of the tow hook. The tow hook uses a total of four mounting bolts on each side.

Have you looked at the tow hook thread in the knowledge base section?

here's a goood one. i'm a very poor men that has a big imaginaation plus i'm in the us army. long story short story.. are you aware of the drill holes where the tow hitch goes. well i put one shackle on each side. if you want pictures i could post one. it took me 5 minutes of my life to install those tow shackles..or you could put a tow hitch and use it as recovery.

If you were to cut the holes in the front bumper cover and attach shackles or some kind of hooks in the two front most holes. You would only be in the 5mph bumper and not have anything usable for pulling/towing; only for show.

That's why the hooks are so long. To reach into the body.

yeah you could do it if you dont plan on getting stuck anywhere. Its also a good way to rip off your bumper. Better to go with the factory hooks
