The motor mounts are the weak part of the Patriot, I had shaking in Park and when I was stopped at a red light. I didnt realize that my front motor mount bracket was bent and not aligned with the mounting tabs. I ended up ordering the front motor mount for under $16 since I knew I wanted it replaced anyways. Had a mechanic hammer the bend out of the motor mount. I took the motor mount off and changed it myself, its the only one that is not a PITA to change out. My old motor mount even with only 30k miles felt too soft and not right. I changed it and even way better than before, I get no shake in Park, a very small amount in Drive when Im stopped but I'll take that over the shaking I had before. I wouldn't trust these mounts past 50k miles, the rubber surface is just not right and hard enough to withstand the engine after many miles. As for your $700 bill, yeah I could call that the dealership F-up and those mounts should have been checked especially with the engine out. Unless major issues arise, I wont take my Patriot to the dealer, they couldn't even tell me my steering fluid was low, when they did a 31 multi-point inspection, when I requested fluid checks.
