What exactly did they do to the 11-up Pat that make them 1" taller than the 07-10 Pats? Is the strut taller? Some part of the body made different to get the extra inch? The reason i ask is because pretty much all the suspension components can interchange with any year Pat.So what makes the newer Pats 1" taller anyway?
 
From what I understand, they just started using the same supension springs on all 4x4 Patriots at some point in time. There were different springs for FDi and FDii. With the FDii's being about a half inch taller. that combined with the OWL tires that came on the FDii, gave it a 1 inch height advantage over the FDi. At some point they stopped using different springs and just went with the original FDii springs on all 4x4 models.
So yes, now all springs are the same. But at one point in time they were not.
 
All the springs are the same now. Also if memory serves me correctly they began using a slightly different rear suspension setup. Not all Pat parts are interchangeable. Everything from 2010 and before is and everything from 2011 to 2014, albeit accounting for transmission types, 4x4, etc...
