This is my second time around with a Jeep. Had a 08 Grand Cherokee that i bought with 29,000 and had nothing but problems for a year strait until i gave up and got rid of it.....About a month ago i purchased a new 2014 Jeep Patriot and was pretty excited about it. In the month i have had it i brought it in for service three times already. I had the back gate latch adjusted and then finally replaced after it kept saying the door was always open. When i went to start the Jeep after they replaced the latch the Jeep would not start or turn over or anything. So the ignition has also been replaced and i have had multiple times wherer the Jeep would turn over and not start for awhile and then run real rough.....so this has been a huge headache that i didnt want. I drive alot of miles to work and back and need someting reliable. After the first Jeep experiance i told myslef i would never buy another......maybe i shuld have listened to myself. I am trying to work with the dealership to get this thing replaced or something. So that is my check in! lol

Well, welcome aboard! I don't know why you're having problems, maybe it's because they tweaked the design for 2014. My 2010 has had very few problems.

Thanks everyone

So i am still having issues with the Patriot. I have the latch issue and the no start issue fixed but now there is a big delay sometimes when starting and also sometimes after it starts it runs really rough and seems like it will barely keep running. I am working with Chrysler customer care at this point and have brought the vehicle in to get looked at with no luck so far. I hope nobody else has this many issues lol.......2400 miles and 4 times in for service so far.

Welcome, that is a strange amount of issues, especially on a brand new vehicle, my 2011 has had very minimal issues, perhaps you should take it to a different shop, maybe they will see a solution the original one does not

I actually am taking it to a different dealership than the one i purchased it from. The dealership i purchased it from is 2 hours away so i am taking it to one close to my house. Their basic response was that no codes came up and it seemed to start ok so they didnt know what to do.....awesome lol

haha I guess thats good news then, keep us posted for better or for worse

Update on my 2014 Patriot. I have owned the pat for just about a year and put 19,000 on it. I still have starting issues every now and then but the new issues deal with the interior. I literally have rubber window molding peeling away from two different windows(which creates a pretty cold draft when it's -10) and also have multiple plastic interior pieces coming loose. It seems this pat is just falling apart on me after a year. I have once again contacted Chrysler customer care for help with these issues. The last time I dealt with them they were awesome and very helpful. This time though these new issues are not covered under warranty and I just wonder what thus pat will be like in a few more years considering its falling apart after one year. Chrysler has created a case to hopefully buy back this wonderful Jeep:)

Hey Gatorbru,
Sorry about your troubles. If you provide your case number I’d be happy to look into your concerns to see if there is any additional assistance I can offer.
Thank you,
