235/65r17 Tyre Won't Fit

Hi, I have purchased some Insa Turbo Dakar 235/65r17 tyres. My local garage mounted them today but the front tyres will not fit as they hit the shock due to their height

. Will spacers eliminate this problem ? What is the biggest size spacer I can run and which are you guys using ?

Where they hit should just be the spring guard part of the strut. Bend it upwards some to clear, or cut it off the strut completely.

interesting, I am running 245/65-17's which should be a bigger tire than a 235/65-17 and I don't have any issues with hitting the strut, its very tight, but I still clear. spacers won't clear the strut, I run 1.25" spacers. Here are some pics from my tires:

Thanks a lot for the advice, I trimmed the strut and they just fit
