Hey guys! I just traded in my 2008 Jeep Compass Sport with 163,000 miles on it for a brand new 2014 Jeep Patriot Sport Altitude edition :D I LOVE this vehicle!

I always liked the styling of the Patriot more and am thrilled to get a brand new one!

Welome aboard. From the look of those pics, it must've taken you all day to finalize, but I'm sure you'll find it was more than worth it.

Hopefully it has the 2.4, I thought the 2.0 I test drove was a total dog.

I really haven't felt a difference between the 2.0 and the 2.4 I had in my 08 Compass, as of yet
Automakers update the engine/transmission software every year so 7 years could make a big difference on how the engine and transmission respond. An older 2.4 liter probably has comparable feel/performance to the 2014 2.0 liters/ with the CVT2 transmission.

nice mileage on the compass!

did you encounter any issues in those 163K miles?
Just after 100k the alternator went out, and had to replace it and the battery. That aside, at 157k my cruise control stalk "softened" and broke in the middle of a u-turn ... As the steering wheel was coming around, the separated stalk got caught in it! I was forced to yank hard and sever the wire connecting the broken cruise control from the steering column or else my vehicle wouldn't have made it all the way through the turn >.>

Oh and near the end, I had a lot of road noise I couldn't identify. Dealer quoted me for new upper control arms and something else ... And the negotiating for the new Patriot commenced :)
