As I said it was an accident. Yes, everything is hooked back up correctly.
Then you can wait and the CEL will go off automatically or you can go to autozone and have them clear the computer for you.

Thanks PPiekarski, that was what I was wondering and thinking. It did go off last night while heading to work. I appreciate it. The Pat did great in the snow even with the Firestone Affinity tires. Not a big fan of those though. My wife drives a Jeep Commander with Firestone Destination LE's and they were MUCH better than the ones I am running.

Ugg naming storms!
We don't always agree but on this we do 100%. It is lame and just something for the media/weather folks to use to whip up the hysteria.

You should hear them around here after the storm passed. Super storm Hercules brought havoc and devastation to New England... :blah::blah::blah:

Since when is 10-12" of light fluffy snow, some cold temps, and 20 MPH winds "havoc" and devastation"??? Good lord. This is New England. This storm sucked because it was cold( got into the -25+ range )but other than that it was nothing. Listening to the TV you would think Armageddon hit us and not a mild storm with colder than normal temps.

Now the heating oil folks are getting into the act. Talking about historic and unprecedented demand for oil and such. BULL HOOEY! It has been a fairly mild winter here in the Northeast. Just because we have a bad cold snap and people need oil doesn't mean it is historic and unprecedented. Just a way to justify jacking the price up. All they had to do was look at the weather forecast and see the cold snap coming which means people will be calling. prepare for a little extra demand.

I don't know about people these days.

The Affinity's definitely do better in the snow than most folks talk about. When I ran them on my Patriot( they were the OEM tires )they did just fine in the bad weather. I had to change them out because they didn't have the grip to hold the Patriot on slippery hills when towing my duck boat. Normal driving though they were fine. Definitely better than most report. IMHOA.

The original Firestone Destination LE's were an AWESOME All Season tire and especially in the bad weather. Even better than a lot of All Terrains I have run. I ran them on the last 3 vehicles before my Patriot( 4WD Silverado, AWD Equinox. 4WD Ram ). I am now running the new LE2 on my Patriot and they are fantastic as well. I wouldn't say better than the original LE's but as good. I was skeptical with the tread pattern on the LE2's but they work great in the snow. My Patriot is like a little tank in the bad weather even when I have 4WD off.

Interesting note FWIW - the stock 17" tires on the new 2014 Cherokee Sport and Latitude models are Firestone Destination LE2's. Jeep actually picked a good tire OEM for them.

The patriot definitely did very well. Much better than my wife's mountaineer but not as good as my subaru. I think a lot of that could be seat time between the two and there's not a feeling of being connected with the patriot.

guys, how about some pics.we're dying for some snow here in central europe.

Ahh thanks NHPATRIOT ;)

Want snow come by Lake Michigan .... we just got another 6" of lake effect snow :D

NHPATRIOT, what size LE2's are you running?
225/65R17( pictures below )

Note - I actually had to go over to my Aunt's house( Keene, NH )yesterday to swap out her battery because it died and I didn't want her getting screwed over by the local Kia dealer. They treat her good but their prices are outrageous like most dealers. They wanted $150 for the battery, $25 to install, and it only had a 1 year warranty. I got her a battery( Autocraft Gold from AAP with my discount code )for $75, free install( me :D )that has a 5 year warranty( 3 year free replacement ).

Anyway...

To get there it is about a 1 1/2 hour drive normally from my house on the seacoast( took 2 1/2 yesterday ). You have to go over Temple Mountain and in the winter that SUCKS! Anyone in NH who has driven over that way knows what I mean. It was quite the adventure yesterday. Because it was so cold they couldn't use salt. All they could do was plow. So, the roads had a lot of hard pack snow which is like ice. People were off the road everywhere. I never had any trouble at all. These LE2's are some of the best tires in the snow I have ever had right there with the original LE's.

The ONLY time I ever got a bit puckered( :p ) was when a car 2 ahead of me decided at the last minute to stop in the road to make a turn. They went sliding and the Honda Pilot behind them went sliding the other way to avoid them( the Pilot was too damn close ). Luckily for me I was back far enough, purposely, that I avoided running into them. It was near Dublin on the winding road around the lake( again locals will know where I mean ). Road was AWFUL. My ABS kicked in even with me pumping the brakes. I slid a little but not bad. I easily maintained control while the 2 morons in front mf me spun out. Luckily no accidents and we all moved on with our lives.

Southeast Michigan is getting hit hard this with ANOTHER 8-12 inches of snow, more testing for all patriots :D. Anyone else getting more snow?

We are lucky here. The way the low pressure system is situated it will be pulling warm air in off the ocean and from the South, instead of pulling cold air down from Canada like it did for this last storm, when the storm you are getting( got )arrives here on Monday. Temps are supposed to be 50 and we will see rain. :notworthy:

As I get older, and now being disabled, I don't look forward to snow like I did. I just think how I have to clean it all up and also I am always thinking about my heating oil bill. Guess I turned into an old man before my time. :D

NHPATRIOT, I take it there is no rubbing at all with that size?
I'm also running 225/65R17's and no, that size does not rub.

NHPatriot, I had a similar experience with a tailgater Friday after work. Certain counties are better at snow removal than others and when you drive a road that spans a few counties, you know the conditions will change...well, if you pay attention. So I was picking up my Mom to go to a birthday dinner and this idiot is on my rump the whole time. The roads were awesome until we crossed counties then it was hard packed snow and very bumpy. I lifted off the gas pedal and started coasting down to a safer speed. They had to hit their brakes and I watched them slide sideways in the middle of the road. Thankfully no one hit them, but I was laughing my...uh...rump off the whole time I was pulling away from them.

Tailgaters in those type of conditions are the worst, they're just wanting to rear end someone when they can't stop in time. I drive a rear wheel drive car so I have to be extra cautious when turning or merging lanes but they still ride your bumper like there ain't nothing on the road! It drives me crazy, a couple of times it's been bad enough where I've given the middle finger to people behind me as they pass and they flash their high beam at me. Totally unsafe driving.

To me, if you are anywhere from 1.5 car lengths to my back bumper on a snow packed road that is NOT treated/plowed, you are tailgating. When I drive in those conditions I always give the person ahead of me 5-6 car lengths so I have room to brake and anticipate stops.

It's all about being safe out there and watching for idiots, drive safe everyone :)

People are nuts. Not much else you can say.

I always worry more about what others will do that gets me into trouble than anything I will get into on my own.
