My wife and I rented a Jeep Liberty for vacation. That was sort of funny because we had asked the rental company for a Ford Escape. All they had was this Jeep.

Jeeps ride rough and are sort of crude, we thought. We loaded it up and set out for a couple of weeks of high adventure. The more we drove the Jeep, the more we liked it. By the time we returned home, we both knew we wanted a Jeep. But, what kind??

We were very new to Jeeps owning Camaros. Neither of us wanted to part with our Camaros, so, we decided to go buy the Jeep.

While at the dealership, he showed us all the models. He asked us what we plan to use it for? Was fuel economy important? Was rear room important? He was very informative trying to give us what we wanted. Not what he was trying to push off on some customer.

After a few minutes, he said he had just the Jeep for us. We walked to the front window and watched a man drive up in the new red Jeep Patriot. I think we fell in love near right away.

To this day, my wife will not let it get dirty. Well, we do get it dirty but it has to be washed as soon as we get home. So far, we have added a trailer hitch so we could mount the bicycle rack. Later, we are planning a couple of kayaks!!

Welcome aboard. Sounds like you found something just right for ya. I wasn't sure about mine when my parents pretty much picked it out for me, but a few months afterwards, and even now four years later, I wouldn't trade it for anything. There's alot of material and ideas on this forum if you ever want to lift it, get new tires, or even just fix a scratch or something.
