my salesman put the paper temp plate under my metal plate.
I have never heard a rattle.

Originally I was gonna buy a new tag, but the salesman didn't mark the paperwork correctly and I had to do the transfer tag deal from my old car

Going with the license plate theme, my plates are a little rusty marks from the old screws. Anyway to get rid of that rust color or should I get replacement plates?

I stuck a piece of folded cardboard under the plastic dealer plate to stop the stupid rattle.

Try some WD-40 and a toothbrush. There's also a product called CLR that removed Calcium, Lime and Rust from most things.

These rubber bumpers work well, and you don't really notice them. They don't keep your license plate flush with the paint, but they get rid of the "clang" when you close the hatch, replacing it with a more pleasing "thud".

:smiley_thumbs_up: glad so many people are finding this useful. Lucky me that those nuron's in the old brain pan fired at the right moment to figure this out. LOL

plate holders

I just picked up my new patriot 4x2 5speed on friday and am impressed with it! A 800 km (500 m) ride home and found it very comfortable. Now, about the plates! Mine had two screws and some foam stick on cubes for the rear, they seem to do the job, but what about the front plate? Is the bumper thick enough to hold some self tapping screws? any ideas?

I'm not planning on drilling into my front bumper and finding out for a long time. Lots of cars around here have no front plate even though it's law to have one.
