Someone (I don't recall who) had asked if someone could photoshop up a Patriot with square headlights. Now I'm no PS expert, but I gave this my best shot...so without further ado, I give you the Patriot YK (since the YJ was the donor vehicle for the square headlights).

Yea, when someone first mentioned wondering what that would look like, I thought at first it might actually look pretty good. But after I got the first one in...I knew I liked the round better myself. But I finished it up anyway so everyone else could envision it a little better.

They are kind of small, I would imagine had jeep gone that route, it would have been with some much cooler/custom square headlight (more along the lines of the commander) rather the the disposable squares that the YJ Wrangler used.

Sorta looks like it's falling asleep.
LMAO.

I asked for this... These lights make it look, well, ghetto. No offense, great job on the PS. Someone in the modified SEMA photochop thread used the new Liberty/Commander style lights that kind of fill that whole space. I think those looked better and would go with the rest of the lineup better.

I realize people think Jeep = round, but as others have said, the headlights don't make a Jeep a Jeep. After all, every Jeep model has had square headlights. I just think with the boxy angular look and feel of the Patriot, square would look better. Just my opinion. They should make it an option or someone should make it after-market.

I agree, if different headlights were to be used, the headlights from the Liberty/ Commander would look better. Just my opinion.

Not a good look.
The doctored photo with the Commander/Liberty lights looked a little better.
The round lights give it a look of a creature that is curious and uninformed.

They have not captured the tough look of the "Rhino Chaser" in years.

The toughest looking square body Jeep has the grill like on my 1982 J-10 and Cherokee with the factory brush guard.

Just did a quick photoshop of a Patriot with Commander Headlights.

Nice job TryBeFan, That does look much better. I had thought to go that route but it was late last night and I just cobbled together what I had.

One of the reasons i went with the patriot over the liberty was i dont like the new liberty's headlights. It makes it look like a luxury SUV... not what i wanted.

I love the round headlight look. Tho i must say if you added the corner lenses that the cherokee had, under the square headlights, it might look better.

how bout something like this; i kept the round headlights.. but added a few other things, inspired by wrangler.
I had this idea on customizing the "Trail Rated" badge on the 4x4's to illuminate as a fender-signal.

You know, with slightly less aggressive flares, that could be a production model for the "FD3 Trail Master" package

Ive bought both the commander and liberty headlights to try and swap them with a little body work and it can't be done.. not enough rom behind the round headlights to fit in the new commander and liberty headlights. the commander headlights were way too big. liberty was a little closer

For about $22k, you can get a pair of the square headlights at your Jeep dealer. Then you can remove the Liberty from the back of them and replace that with a Patriot.:icon_rolleyes:
