Hi all,
Just a quick check-in. As I previously mentioned in my intro thread a while back, I have yet to get a Pat and indeed, will be buying two, one for the Mrs and I and one for a newly widowed friend who's shy of dealership experience. We have our financing set up already through our CU and am just awaiting some other financial things to settle a bit, prior to pulling the trigger.
That said, I've been watching our local dealerships online for inventory. Boy....I don't know if Jeep's doing the right thing by discontinuing these because they are VANISHING! Everyday I go on the web to nose around....and in just two days, one dealer went from 38 Pats in stock to 16! They had a smokin deal on a LOADED Sport, 4X4, 6 speed. Had everything on it the Lat does but heated seats. 17,888. They had 9(?) on Tuesday and yesterday they had 3 left! I have one dealer here who has a mere four. Three of which are 4X2 Sports.
I certainly hope they get more inventory rolling through in the next four weeks or so! Sheesh..........

Sometimes prices dealers quote you can be a tool to get you in the door. They are probably quoting a price with all rebates and incentives that are going on right now. After saying that, you should be able to get a nicely equipped Pat for 20 grand.

I was just doing some web surfing and found out that July just passed was the record month for U.S. sales since the Patriot's inception. The sales trend for a good three years has been steadily higher.

Now, with the 6 speed auto, one of the negatives from many customers perception, being the CVT, is gone. Common sense says that Jeep has a cash cow going here, even at the low price. They have paid off all the initial tooling costs, and they spend next to nothing on advertising this model. So, what's not to love? I think they need to give their collective heads a shake for dropping this after 2014.

My dealer had about 30 on the lot when I bought mine stopped by to pick up new license plate today and they only had 2! Plenty of compass's left though :(

I bought my 2014 Patriot new in March of this year. They only had a few when I bought mine after it had just come in a few days before. I've been randomly looking at the ones they got in since then. They are selling a lot of them. That new 6 spd transmission will help even more. Love mine.

Cool, definetly growing US sales.

Interesting... meanwhile in Canada the Patriot is selling at an all time record low. It doesn't look like it was ever really selling well there anyways, but I wonder why the sudden decrease in Canada?
Kudos to Jeep on the Patriots best year to date!

they are probably selling well b/c

1) pent up demand for new vehicles
2) financing is easier to get
3) people are fed up with some of the japanese brands which now seem to carry luxury-brand maintenance and repair costs
4) the Patriot's capabilities + amenities + mpg for the price cannot be beat by any other model

it was also rated the lowest cost of ownership in its class, which means that the low sticker price and low cost of repairs more than makes up for the greater depreciation compared to the Honda CR-V which actually is a very expensive vehicle to own long term now due to fully synthetic oil required, expensive parts, etc the list goes on.

Reasons for low sales in Canada?

1) No lifetime powertrain warranty offered (in Canada) from Chrysler

2) Much higher cost of repair (and parts) than in USA

3) Not so stellar consumers reports on reliability of Patriot (too many repairs)

4) 2007 and 2008 are getting over 100,000KM (max. warranty) and CVT's are failing - $7,000+ replacement cost (or, if fixable, $2,500 repair and 1 year warranty!!!)

5) Chrysler customer service and dealers in Canada are terrible!

Just my opinion... anybody cares to comment? I love my Pat, but cannot afford $7,000 every 100,000KM plus all other usual maintainance and repairs cost to drive it...
