If you ever doubted the in-family hatred of our Patriot.... Just have a read of some posts on what is the 'Official' Jeep Facebook page.

It blows my mind the amount of anti-Patriot's out there.

I've seen it in Australia, due to Aussie-trash-bogan-ism, but never knew it was worldwide on facebook. Jeeeperz!

Some comments....

It seems there is at least 5 people in just this one comment stream alone that absolutely LOATHE the Patriot.

Thought I'd share..... so much for Jeep 'family'.

are you surprised? its change. and historic jeep owners don't accept change... and cannot understand that not everybody needs/wants/can afford/ a wrangler. From where I live, I drive 60 miles to get anywhere... closest food store is 10 miles from our house, can you imagine using a JKU as a grocery getter, and burning a gallon and a half of gas just to get food?

We've had several of these threads over the years. I remember on one, I commented on the facebook page to the wrangler faithful, that if it wasn't an MB, made by Ford and designed by Bantam, they didn't have a real Jeep either. Lol, the lash back was awesome.

I find it funny also.....heck amoung wrangler owners there is always a group that think because you drive a JKU you aren't a true jeeper or if you run street tires instead of AT or MTR......crazy!

I have owned 2 wranglers and now a patriot....I don't care if it an CJ, XJ, YJ, TJ, JK, or MJ....it has jeep on the front then it is a jeep!

Now compass......that is a different story!! JK :p

There are always going to be haters.. Especially on the internet when people hide behind their computers and make outlandish comments. Some of them have never been in a Patriot or seen it's capabilities. They probably drive their mom's civic when she allows it.

They are all talk...

I wish we could go Jay & Silent Bob on them and kick their a$$.

I would love to find that thread and read it! "...If it isn't carbureted with a points ignition, it isn't a JEEP!"

I just always find their logic so twisted lol. For 2 reasons:

1) The Jeep brand goal is to make the most off-road capable vehicle in every class in which they compete. Goal: ACCOMPLISHED!

2) By selling vehicle other than the wrangler, it allows for Jeep to make TONS of cash on high volume models (aka GC, Libs, MKs), which equals MORE MONEY to spend on development of awesome hard core off-road vehicles like the Wrangler. Mo' sales = mo' money = mo' better Wranglers

So, youre welcome haters...youre welcome

Put my .02 cents on there. It's a JEEP page, not a Wrangler page - and you can see from my sig I know all about the Wrangler. It looks like a lot of ignorance to me.

Sometimes I think that people just have to justify their purchase after the fact. They now see a pretty good looking vehicle, that is as capable as most people will ever need and then some, and it gets much better gas mileage than their beloved Wrangler, that they spent more money on. I chalk it up to frustration. After all, only a small percentage of Wrangler owners will ever do more off roading than taking it down an unpaved road. I actually gasped when I found out that you can get the wrangler unlimited without 4 wheel drive. So, if it's a wrangler without 4 wheel drive, is it still a "real Jeep"? And how can it be called "unlimited" if it's not 4x4?

I think the guys name is Travis Cunningham he's a real ahole. If you go on there report his posts!

.....and Jeep sells more Patriots now then ever. Go figure!

I'm looking forward to having the Pat next week as the wife is heading north for a wedding.

I'm taking the week off as well, I wonder where I'll go? No tropical storms on the horizon.

Most effective way to dissolve the incestual hatred is to get out there and wheel your Patriots to show the Jeep faithful what's up!

The Patriot is pretty darn capable off road for what it is, even more so with a lift & tires. :smiley_thumbs_up:

All I know is ever since I was package delivering using a 4wd F-150, that these type vehicles yell at you to go faster and be more aggressive. The Pat does this. Tells you that there is nothing to worry about when driving for a while. Sometimes when I hit a washboard trail the Pat wants to go diagonal from vibration but I am pretty sure the WJ does the same thing.
