Not sure if I should congratulate :D What did you get instead?
Haha, yeah I know what you mean. Still love the Jeep for what it is.

We traded it in on a 2012 Rav4 V6 4x4 Limited. 269 HP and we have been averaging 28 mpg on the highway :wow:

Now that you are driving a RAV4 there are some rules you need to know.

1) drive a little too fast in parking lots and a little too slow on the road.
2) on the highway, it is imperative that you don't hold a steady speed...vary it and often and never, ever go at the limit. Always 2-5 under, drift down to 10 under (slowly), speed up to 3 under and drift down again.
3) Repeat all the above as needed.

Haha.... yeah yeah. Now when I go to the store I'll have to sound the alarm to figure out which one is mine, and convince some old lady not to get in because she thought it was hers.....

Since you can't go off road, At least you'll have enough horsepower so maybe you can outrun the soccer mom's in the minivans...

(Meant to be taken lightly :))

Ouch, I love the look of your Patriot. I bet it was hard to let go of. I personally couldn't ever go from a Jeep that gorgeous to a Toyota no matter what. I hope you like the new ride though! I hope that your old Jeep found a happy owner. :)

I hope you all the best with your Rav4. If you take it off road please compare to your Jeep! If they can lift a Patriot I am sure they could life a Rav4 :D.

Yeah, I love that Jeep and put a lot into it. Who ever gets it next week be really happy.... it doesn't have a single ding or scratch on it. I love going off road, but the reality is even when I was looking, I couldn't find any place close by to take it. It was really hard to justify keeping it just to be able to go off the beaten path's that have all been paved over.

My wife and I have been wanting to travel more and more with our trailer too, and we found road trips are really difficult running on a 13 gallon tank while only getting 16-17 mpg (towing). Really had to plan those stops carefully.

The Rav we found only had 12,000 miles on it. It's got a sunroof, leather, backup camera, tow prep, bug/rock guard, and mud flaps

Nothing special, but here it is:

Nope. Has a spare tire on the back too. It feels a bit like driving a mini van until I hit the gas... then it feels like a truck

Yikes! I hope you don't regret your decision much, based on looks I like the Patriot WAY more. However you're totally right for your point on hauling during long trips and the tiny gas tank I can agree with you. I just really dislike the super rounded bubble look of most of the compact suvs you see now a days but it does help gas mileage. Even the new Ford Explorer isn't exactly good looking in my opinion. I might just be an old soul that missed out on a lot of older boxy cars and trucks.

How's the exhaust note? I love the sound of certain V6's, especially with a good muffler.

It's actually pretty amazing. I wasn't even thinking about the sound of the exhaust, but it's pretty burly with everything stock

I miss my V-8 Sierra with a 4.10 rear end posi-trac sometimes. Boy would that thing move. 0-60 in about 5 seconds. And the sound was very deep when you got on the throttle. But oh well, I'm getting used to the 4 cylinder CVT of the Patriot. And oh, I enjoy 21MPG a lot better than the 13MPG I was getting...

What about a Tacoma? V-6 with a crew cab would be more useful than a Rav4? I had a I-4 single cab, stick a couple years back and it was the most fun vehicle I have ever driven(dad owned). We even pulled our tractor on a car hauler to the guy that bought the tractor(was a little struggle up hills but having stick helped a lot!). With a crew cab you'd have your interior room, with the bed you can throw bikes, lumber, etc in the back, and they are pretty capable off road.
